KW HAS - Coil Bind Solution
Hi Gents --
I'm running the KW HAS on my M5. I had my car looked at the other day due to the relatively common noises heard during low speed turns, specifically on uneven pavement. The tech showed me that on the passenger front side, the coil actually binds when the wheel turns and creates a knocking sound. Interestingly enough, this isn't duplicated on the driver side. He recommended thrust sheets, potentially the ones with bearings, to prevent or reduce this. Have any of you done this mod on your KW HAS or Dinan HAS setup? It's clearly not a safety issue, just "one of those things," but wanted to ask for feedback on anyone with a similar issue. Best, Brad

I also have the KW HAS setup and have been running it for a month. Springs perform great and I haven't heard the noise that you describe. My first guess is that you have an installation problem. If it was a matter of some kind of defect created by the springs that only materializes after wear, then I would have expected others who have been running these springs for a few years now to say something. But this is the first I have heard of this. I suscribed to this thread since I'm definitely interested in hearing others' experience.
