there is a spot for the M5 emblem on the grill on LCI cars, I try a non LCI grill.. it should fit

My point is exactly. It's harmless, but personally, I'd feel like a tool if I rolled up to a real M car.

I had what I thought was a standard 520d (side M badge but no side grilles) driver paying very close attention to my car as he edged forward in traffic...then I noticed he looked a bit sheepish...he went on ahead, after not letting me out of a side turning and bingo.. on the back he had a quad exhaust, but sounding very 520d.. check,, a tool !

Which proves my theory: these people know what they're doing is dumb, but they know there aren't a lot of M cars rolling around, so there's a slim chance they'll get busted. ...and they take that chance. ...and they get roasted in an M forum.
