Brake discs warped again!

Just had a call from a bmw dealer to inform me that my front discs are warped @ 1000 miles after they've just been replaced as there is too much paint on the wheel (20" 343M).

Is this possible or just an excuse to wriggle out of changing the discs & pads under warranty?

Paint? Did you powder coat them or "paint" them?

The supplying dealer had the wheels refurb'd as part of the vehicle prep.

If they sold you the car that way with a maintenance warranty then BMWNA is responsible for any warranty claims.

Well regardless, I cannot imagine paint/powdercoat destroying a brake system. Lame.

Like everyone else so far, I fail to see how too much paint can cause rotors to warp. Ask them how it can do that, and have them do it slowly and deliberately....and film it. We would love to see it

not sure how paint can cause a rotor to warp. what a deadbeat dealership. at least come up with a better excuse...

my father had vibration upon braking in his old m5, and we took it in, they told us because the hub had some paint not it (yes, I painted the wheels) it was causing vibration. RIGHTT....

Took it to another dealer, changed rotors, and balanced all the wheels, problem gone. take it to another dealer, and leave a neg review for that one
