M5 New Paddle Shifters

These are just ideas... but with another members help (v12), the help of someone who may be able to produce these, and some interest.. we may be able to get the ball rolling on this.
- X5M style paddle
- Full aluminum construction
- "+" and "-" logo engraved
and/or
- "+" and "-" logo illuminated (like the E60 M5)
- Option of raw alum or black alum

I feel this upgrade would mainly appeal to pre-LCI M5 owners (or those who have the pre-LCI style steering wheel). But, it doesn't hurt to gauge interest amongst all M5 owners.

The feel and "click" should be able to be improved on as well. Something the pre-LCI paddles lack (compared to E60 M5 and X5M).

I'm in... who do I make the check out to?

I would really like something that looks OEM. The things that always turned me off about most aftermarket paddles is they are just too much design wise. Either too big or with 10,000 holes, or in chrome red is not for me.

Yeah totally agree. Every aftermarket peddle I have seen for the E9X M3 are way too ricey. OEM design and function is key.

No, it hasn't been done for the latest generation M series. It has been done for the E9X M's (very poor examples though..).

The E60 M5 paddles were plastic, but they had +/- that illuminated.
The X5M paddles are aluminum (don't glow).

The E60 M5 and X5M paddles, while different, both operated better than the pre-LCI M5 paddles. Best way to explain it is they have better feedback and feel than pre-LCI M5 paddles.. they have more of a reaffirming click and double shifts (and shifts in general) were better as a result.
