Front License Plate location

I think my plates will finally be showing up soon, and so I'll need to figure out how to mount the front one. I've got a plate frame at the back, but the front I haven't. I just went back to find any pictures of them with front plates and we've all posted pictures from when the car is new.

So, for those with front plates, can you blank the numbers on the plate and post a picture and let me know how it's mounted, so I can figure out which I like best, please?

I wish I had that luxury. My front plate ALWAYS goes where it's supposed go. 😄

I'm in Seattle as well. Over the last 7 years been driving with no front plates and only been warned once (no tickets).

Here's a "temporary" solution: suction cup mounting. A few weeks ago I met the guy who runs the site below. He created the suction mounts so that you can attach a plate when you park and avoid a "no front plate" ticket, which is REALLY common here in LA. He said it holds pretty well while driving, but he won't guaranty it since it's only attached with suctions.

It's not illegal. It just needs to be secure. Problem comes in if it comes off when not properly secured and causes damage to another vehicle or person. Then you will be liable for repairs or injuries. Best thing is suck it up and make the holes like the rest if us. I'm sure we all hated to do it too.

You could use the one that US Millworks puts out that is secured onto the tow hook. This way you can take it off whenever without damaging the bumper OR put it on in a few minutes if your getting hassled.

Alas, here in Washington state, it's the law to have them. It turns out, US Mill Works are here in Seattle. As much as I'd like to do as fellow Seattleite v3n0m does, I've got a different set of risks to him, and so I'm not going to yet. I've never been a big fan of the offset plates, but I think they're a better solution in this case.

I would still like to see an F10 M5 with a US plate on the front, mounted, actually, because I haven't yet.

I suppose it's all down to what you're used to. Do you mean the round one that goes in the window? If so, that's actually not a sticker. It's plain paper, in a holder.

Thanks for the photos and the suggestions. I'm not yet certain which I'll go for, but I have the info I need to make the decision.

Don't do the off center style.

If you must install a front plate (I understand.. I once lived in NJ in an area where the worst crime was not running a front plate) then just try the bracket and some double stick tape. Or one of the drill-less solutions that place it in the normal center location.

THIS!!!!!! ^^^^^^^^ Thank you. I think the Tow Hook Plate Holder is one othe ugliest inventions EVER. The beauty of a great looking car is SYMMETRY. The offset plate is just a BIG EYESORE. Better to have NO plate and get a summons , than putting an offset plate there, when the whole idea is to avoid " having holes" and messing up the "beauty" of the front of the car.

Agreed about the off set look. My only real point was that you can take it off at will without damage to bumper. Get harassed with it off, well use the tow hook plate for a while and yank it back off when your feeling ballsy.

No front plates on any of my vehicles ever. No hassles or tickets yet. Its only a "fix-it" ticket would about $20, not a moving violation. Drill holes and be "legal" if you must.

After you've drilled holes in your car...remember, YOU ARE A LAW ABIDING CITIZEN NOW...NEVER drive 1mph over any speed limit, if you do, you're just wrong and a bad citizen. Come on Man!
