Frozen cars get a lot of attention. People behind me are always pointing and holding their camera phones up. People to the side at a light are usually braking their necks. When I have my window down or am getting out of the car I always get the same questions.. which are now just annoying to hear.

But I liked the frozen paintwork enough to get it again and put up with the attention. If I didn't have tints it would be very annoying.

I switched from MCB to frozen grey because I wanted some attention.

I think the reaction to MCB is that people think you have a very good looking and sporty car. But it certainly does not draw a lot of attention. Mostly it's people you know complementing you on it rather than random strangers complementing you.

The other weekend when I was on my way up to Pennsylvania to visit my sister, I was driving at around 8pm on the dark highway with only 2 lanes through a construction zone. The speed limit was 55mph so I slowed down to 54mph and obeyed the law. I was in the left lane when I did this and I constantly kept having to move over to the right because people did not want to obey the construction speed limit and I had a lot of people tailgating me, wanting me to move out of the way or go faster. Most people I just let them go and pass by, hoping they'd get a ticket. Keep in mind I'm running full radar detection and laser jamming, and the people who are passing me have no protection, so I'm not worried about getting a ticket myself, 99% of the time I obey the speed limit. But then comes along this one douchebag, who is in a civic with a fart can exhaust or something and gets on my ass, starts honking and flashing his lights. I naturally move over to the right lane again (by the way I can't stay in the right lane 100% either as there are cars moving at less than 55mph so I have to get in the left lane to circumnavigate them time to time), and then proceeded to hit the ///M button. Well you can guess what happened next. As soon as the annoying civic is about to pass me on the left, I gun it, and a huge explosion of Twin Turbo V8 glory happens behind me. I take it up to triple digits then slow down again and wait for him to catch up, then I do it again and get in front him on purpose and slow down. Yes at this point, I'm being what some may call an A-Hole, but this guy deserved it. I eventually end my flashing of my headlights, honking of my horn and exploding of my straightpipes and let him go. As he passes me for the final time, the passenger in the civic rolls down the window and gives me a huge thumbs down. I'm thinking to myself "///Mission Accomplished!" And laughing out loud to myself behind my 15% tinted windows. Some people just need to be punished with the ridiculously loud sound of a straightpiped S63tu for their stupidity. I hope that he learned to never annoy a family sedan again, but probably not. Lol!

On the upside, it felt SOOOOO good to stretch my M5's legs again. Listening to the reverberation of the straight sound of the engine against the highway dividers gave me warm and fuzzies.
Been there done that, it's great!

My only concern is that it may attract too much negative attention? Do you MCB guys find this?

I suppose I enjoy driving around in something that doesnt advertise itself to the whole world but rather a cool and subtle aggression to it

My car will be a dd and I will have to visit clients occasionally though I could always drive my wifes horrible Merc A class.

In fact, regardless of colour, what sort if any attention does your F10 generate?
For the most part it is wanted attention. MCB is the best color for the
F10 M5, elegant, classy, sporty, keeping the aggressive look...

Oh I haven't got the RPi downpipes in yet. I'm still using my custom ones. Been too busy. I'll try to get them in next month.

Thank you. I was thinking m performance because it's OEM, however, I'm assuming it's just rebranded with mark up? My sales manger was considering getting one fitted.

Is it possible to get something that is not intrusive when cruising, but v loud on WOT?

I had an MCB on extended test drive - I thought it looked ok, but not great - the kind of colour that I'd get bored of looking at. But it's obviously very personal.

The black sapphire doesn't attract a massive amount of attention in London but driving tends to be generally quite aggressive in London whatever you drive. The badge does tend to wind up a minority, but I think that the black does quite a good job of generally making the car blend in.

who cares about attention? thats why I like Ms if I wanted attention I would be like every other jerk around here in a 911 or the corvette of Ferraris the California. I have had E30, E36,E46,e60 and Currently Have a X5 M and E90 M3
Soon to have a F10 M5. I love these cars for the shear fact that unless you are an auto enthusiast you dont really truly appreciate these cars cause most people dont know what they are. Some how I doubt other Porsche or AMG owners give each other the thumbs up, but M drivers always do

please dont make that silly step and spend 6k or whatever m-performance cost.. u can get used akrapovic at least, if u really want it
they ask STUPID money for "m-performance", which is not different from original akrapovic, except for tips

u can get valve controlled meisterschaft, if u want it quiet when u need it
and my exhaust is pretty quiet (bit louder when idling, but not as dramatic as on NA engine ) unless u push your car

M is not for attention, It is for driving, it is for driver only.
If wanna more attention, AMG may be better, the killer exhaust sound will definitely draw some attention.
Several months ago, when I sat in my bud's C63, there was a blonde chick stand behind his car at the time he started his engine, and the beauty said to my bud "your car sounds awesome, I love it."

I wired open my Valves and fitted CYBA Tips, everyone who has heard it loves the sound, slight drone at 1500 RPM or lower but sounds great , next too no cost.

With respect to "Attention" I did London (Canary Wharf) drive yesterday all these London "M wantabees" trying to race me pathetic.
One 330i was behind me for miles on the M11, I kept blowing him away but he just caught up and sat there.

I was on M1 motorway, middle lane @ 70mph and 3 series passed on outside lane - male driver, female passenger - driver leaning into passengers side with camera pointed at my car. Weird, but I have to admit that that was the first time I felt slightly self-conscious driving the M5. Fortunately most of the time it get ignored and you can enjoy the car for yourself. The MCB demo I had for the day did seem to annoy one driver, but perhaps that was just coincidence.

I've only had one aggressive Vectra VRX driver trying to prove something by trying to drive through my car on a slip road, but one quick blip of the throttle seemed to do the trick and he passed by tentatively.
