Wrong octane level

So first of all, I selected the correct premium gas at a Shell the other day but I had to park on a funny angle because of the guy behind me and when I whipped the hose around it must have slapped the 89 octane button. I had a tank that was 1/3 full of 93 and my mechanic told me that the knock sensor would regulate the ignition or whatever it is that keeps it from exploding lol. Any one screw up like this before and think it's more serious? I figured since I already had a good amount of the 93 I'd be comfortably situated somewhere around the crappy California 91 quality. In Europe I use the Shell V power race or whatever they call it which is 100 RON and I think the equivalent of 95 octane. That's probably why I'm so worried in trusting the quality. Don't know much about the chemical composition of these fuels so I'm just curious. Thanks!

You could buy a bottle of octane booster from a performance shop to up your octane safely for this tank.

I've never used one. Which product would you recommend?

I would not worry about it. Octane booster should help.

If you went 1/3 at 93 and 2/3 at 89, then you're at about 90.3. I wouldn't worry about it. The ECM will dial back ignition, boost and cam if it must to control pre-ignition (knock). Just don't race in the meantime, take it easy for 1/2 a tank and then top off with 93 to bring it back to 91.5ish. More than enough.

Here's a link to thread where someone put 87 in the tank. Apparently, no problems.
