Brake master cylinder failure?

Just wanted to get your thoughts on the below if I can

So 6 weeks ago I had a brake fluid service as well as changing the rear discs and pads...Front pads and discs need changing at some point in the future but not urgently..

Fast forward to this weekend, drove the car on Friday and all was good, then drove the car on Sat morning and the brakes suddenly feel very spongy and upon braking the pedal definately drops away from my foot...Appears normal when the car is turned off but definately apparent when the car is on and there is no longer a "clean biting point"

So this is what Im thinking...

I cant see how I would suddenly need to bleed the system so what im thinking in my head is that I have suddenly developed a leak or the master cylinder has failed...Cars going into BMW today but thought I would get this up here to get everyones thoughts as well

Cheers

Was there a failure?

I seem to have a similar issue had brake fluid changed but brakes feel very spongy initial travel is almost half way..

Exactly the same thing happened after my brake service too. Had to replace the master cylinder.
