I'd rather have the e90 m3...and pocket the extra $20k or whatever.

For me, the F10's look great head on, but the long overhangs make it look a buick when viewed from the side...plus that body is rolling like crazy.

Does the M stand for "meh"?

I would take the M5 over the E90. But that E92 GTS was pure sex. Thta's the real highlight of that clip . Too bad Americans don't value it's qualities, or we could have had it here.

End an era right there.

Every video of the M3 GTS is more amazing than the previous. I am thoroughly convinced that this car is as hardcore as the E46 M3 CSL. Actually more hardcore. I wish they had called it M3 CSL. The last of the true M-cars with pure race bred heritage and truly deserving of the 'motorsports' badge on the back.

Now is the time for the steroid-fed heavy bland tank mobiles like the X5 M, X6 M, M1 and the F10 M5. Calling these Motorsports derived cars. LOL. That is laughible. More like Marketing-division. .

Have you actually seen an F10 in person? Ive seen it twice already and it doesnt have long overhangs at all. Looks aside, I dont think any of us can comment on the handling from a video until we drive the car.

M does not stand for "meh", every successive M car has been better then the one before it and this car isnt out yet so I dont think anyone can say its not as good as the E60 yet.

So that means, so far the 5700 lbs heavy goliath of a tank called X5 M is the best M car so far and the E30 M3 is the most "inferior" M car.

Yeah right! M does not stand for "motorsports" anymore. It stands for "marketing".

Ok lets use our brains here. Compare apples to apples, noone is comparing an X5 M to an E30 M3, thats a bit of a stretch.

"every successive M car has been better then the one before it and this car isnt out yet so I dont think anyone can say its not as good as the E60 yet."

Successive meaning next generation. So when you compare M3 the generations are E30-> E36->E46->E90. Comparing an M5 would be to compare an E34->E39->E60->F10. And so on. Trying to compare an X5 M to an E30 is as stupid as trying to compare a Z3 M Coupe to an M5. I can't believe i just had to type this out.

Anyways, if you don't believe that E60 M5 > E39 M5 > E34 M5 then I don't know what to tell you.

And Im curious, you say that its an end of an era with this car, do you somehow believe that the E60 M5, E39 M5 or E34 M5 were derived from race cars? And if a twin turbo V8 producing 500 HP is considered the end of an era, then what is your opinion of a silly ~400HP V8 (the basis of so much good) in the E39 M5. Im afraid of what you think about the E34 M5 whoose weight to power ratio is dismal compared to the F10

I agree with you that they're getting better all around with every successive model, but at the same time driver involvement and that true driving experience is becoming less of a priority. Hence why I prefer the E46 M3 over the E9X M3.

I unfortunately agree, but I doubt this will be end product, looks way to shaky on corners. I hope they just muffled the exhaust or something to keep the birds chirping....fack I hope so

If the M5 has too long overhangs, then get an RS6. If M stands for Marketing, then get get RS that stands for Rennsport.

It sounded great until the M3 went by... WAY better sound on the M3. It's really hard to beat the sound of the high revving engine in the M3 and Im not being biased.

For a FI engine is sound quite nice, sure some FI engined cars sound even better and especially so if they are N/A but is that really the point when the car in question is to serve the dual role of sports saloon and luxury freight train.

My only concern was the ease with which it lite up the rear wheel (note singular), this so much reminded me of all the mighty AMGs. So I am starting to again question whether this much power is a wise more for BMW without the move to include awd.

For me the RS6 and TT-RS are two of the sweetest sounding FI engine around, the GTR doesn't do it for me and neither does the 911 Turbo. As for the F40 or MP4-12C, without hearing them in person I wouldn't want to dismiss their note but with that said the McLaren does sound the closest to a proper race FI car that I have heard.

Anyway it's not always about volume but about quality of the note.
