Very excited - after my disappointing experience with a 530d have ordered an M5 today!

So far have chosen the following specs:

Singapore Grey
Silverstone extended leather
Feline wood
20" alloys

Prof Hi-Fi
Extended Bluetooth
Folding wing mirrors
Sun protection glass
Multifunction seats
Ventilated seats
Rear heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Soft close doors
TV
LED headlights
Comfort access
Surround view
Folding seats with ski
Speed limit warning

Think that is about it. Have I missed anything essential? Not wanting CP or ceramic brakes. Have a few days if want to change spec.

Can't wait until end of November for delivery :-)

Personally I would go for the HK sound - it's substantially better.

TV option is a nice novelty but I barely ever use it.

Hi Guys

My first post on this forum, I ordered a car 2 weeks ago but i am being quoted delivery first week of January. I was ok with this until i just saw that you are being told yours would be here in November.

I ordered:
Saphire Black
Silverstone Extended Leather
Harmon Kardon
M Multi function seats
Ventilated seats
Heated rear seats
Privacy glass
Reverse assist camera
19inch wheels

I have never used this company before so im a bit worried about the length of time they are quoting.

It would be good to know what you are being told.

I would recommend CP package. Maybe it's my driving style, but I love it!

Not sure how it works in the UK, but in the US is approx. 6-10 weeks for delivery and we are further away. So you guys should get it earlier. 17 weeks to the UK? Doesn't sound right to me. + you didn't order any individual options?

Seems like the dealer is hoping to get an allocation.

Unless you have little Children the TV option is a lot of money in that you can just give them each an iPad and they will be more than happy! (and fall asleep just as fast)

Nice spec - i'd def recommend LEDs, surround camera, heated steering wheel and HK - HK is still bedding in but sounds fantastic the loader it gets.

I didnt order multifunction seats - cant say i'm missing them but also ordered lumbar support on std seats

Thanks Skypx I called them today and they have advised me that there is a delay with m5's at the factory due to a sudden increase in demand. I don't know how much truth there is to that?

check other dealers and see which allocations they have! Last time i checked it was 6-8 weeks! you can always put an order with different dealer and get your deposit back from your current dealer!

It may be that certain companies get allocated slots for certain deals.
I wasn't even looking for a new car until a friend pointed out how cheap an M5 was from a lease company he was looking at.

I was then in there like a rat up a drainpipe.

Got an absolute bargain but ordered mid August, date finalised at 15/11.

Got so excited thinking about delivery that I posted twice there. Either that or the quality Android app did it.

thats the reason i went with this dealer, i think im getting a good deal. i think it may be because the dealer is in scotland that there is a delay with allocations.

Either way i cant wait.

Wasnt too sure what the LED lights add so at that price i wasnt going to chance them.

Anyone have any experience of them?

I have the LEDs on my 530d & am getting them on my M5 -> tbh not sure that they are that much better - the adaptive bit re bending round corners is not that effective & I am not sure that the keeping on with cars infront of you makes a big difference either. However, I do think they look a lot better & probably why going for them again - not a great reason. I had a pre-LCI M5 for 2 weeks on-loan & didn't miss them at all!

Of the options that miss when not specified it is always comfort access that irritates the most - this is the first option ticked for me....

give park lane a phone, they do the most cars across the BMW group and are owned by BMW so get more allocations. PM me for a contact there that provided fantastic service. January sounds way too long.

I would all add surround view and definitely a uplift in the sound system.
