Phenomenal Tires

Just replaced my front Michelins at 20,233!! And that's with two track events because I picked up a nail in my track setup (Shout out to Boots for the pricing hookup). Cords on my front inside edges due to dialed in negative camber, but the rears are probably good for another 2k miles. Not sure what Michelin puts in these PSS's, but they're amazing!

Dude, thanks for sharing. Yeah I have an issue with too much negative camber, but on just one of my wheels. I have the same problem as you, inside edge of the tire is down to the chord, getting it fixed this Friday. I forget are you running lowering springs and/or Comp Pack Sway Bars also? I'm starting to wonder if this is a Comp Pack Sway Bar issue for those of us that upgraded on our 2013 M5's.

By the way, I'm approaching 25,000 miles on my rear tires and they still don't need to be replaced. My fronts are different, hit a bad pothole a while back and had to get one tire replaced prematurely.

The sway bars won't affect the tire wear. Toe and camber do of course, and just plain old hard driving.

That's correct, Dave, I am running the Comp Bars with the springs. The springs definitely gave us more negative camber. It was noticed by my tech after the bar install that one of my fronts were off more than the other. I had him realign it to the lower measurement (I forget what that was). I'm willing to live with the additional camber, as it made a ton of difference on the track.

Yes I think you are right. I think it's a lowering spring issue. The springs I am using are causing more negative camber I'm pretty sure. Thanks.

Saw the same negative camber issue on stock springs and some cord show when I replaced the first set. Might not be your springs...

Your very welcome drkev. I had the same problem after installing springs so I know Dave is right. t it was caused by a shit alignment. My second set was too much air pressure from the track. I didn't know my pressure went up to 48 psi. I put them back to 33 for the track. That's why I was sliding. Anyway. I have a new set and can't wait to hit the track. But I want another set to do it with. I can vouch for myself , Dave and drkev. We drive our cars hard.

I have gone through more rear tires than I can remember. At least ten sets, and I am at 28,000 miles.

They are great tires, so long as you don't get a flat...with no spare and not being run flats, this is the remedy

Garage List
BTDT with the Porsche but lucky to get to the dealership each time with the M5. I have had three rears replaced on my m5 due to nails or screws or potholes and one replaced on the Porsche. Glad I got the tire insurance.

That's also what it looks like when your fuel pump dies.

You average less than 3000 miles on your tires? Do you drift around EVERY corner? You're having a helluva lot more fun than I am. 8,000 miles on mine and they look almost new.

I average about 5000-6000 miles for my rears. I'm onto my 3rd set of rears at 10K miles.
Replaced my originals at 5K miles and its almost time again, but this time fronts too.

10K miles - 3rd set of rears, 2nd set of fronts.

If anyone ever comes to Lebanon, be sure to let me know. Not sure if my car has been more sideways or more straight
