more than 22psi???

Reading threads on here it looks like 99% go stage 1 or 2 and use the stock boost limit of 22psi.

Anyone added a higher range map sensor (calibrated in tune) and tune for 28psi??. I read 22psi is about the limit of the standard clutches but with careful tuning I guess the clutches could be saved.

Cant find turbo compressor map they maybe struggle at much more than 22psi top end anyway??.

Lots of graphs I see top end dying off, wonder how much timing can be optimised to keep top end power a bit longer. Some running very conservative timing top end.

Stock Compressor is out of its efficiency range at 22psi and turbine housing so small that EGT’s skyrocket.... all bad stuff.

Upgrade the turbo if you want more power.

The limit of stock clutches is around 20/21psi at 4K. As you go up in rpm, the limit goes up very quick and at around 6k, your clutches can hold 25psi.

A well maintained M5 can take about 24psi of boost after 5k rpm, though officially these turbos do fall out of efficiency at 21psi in a 650bhp range.

Here is a dyno from one of our customers when we tried to find absolute limit of stock turbos. Even though the boost was 27psi, keep in mind that there was a lot more power to be had at the same boost only if had more efficient/properly sized turbos.

thanks for the replies.

seems like there is some power to be had over 21psi if tuned correctly.

anyone know where I can find a compressor map??

Hey Alex, with SSP clutches installed + Catless DP + Stock Turbos + 100% meth + 100 Race fuel, what is the best/max/safe Boost PSI from 3000 RPM and above to achieve close to 700 WTQ + 720WHP

I remember my stock clutches were slipping when you requested about 20psi at 3000 RPM, and then you simply upped to about 22PSI from 3000+ RPM.

What kind of scale (boost by rpm/gear) would you guys do to achieve this?
Something like :2800rpm 20-21psi
and about 25psi from 3500-7200rpm?
