After my nozzles were always clogging, I was advised to use distilled water only to mitigate hard water deposits possibly clogging the nozzles. I'm sure even a small piece of sand can find it's way into the nozzles if care isn't taken when filling the tank up. My ultimate fear was hydrolocking my motor if the pumps kept running. This actually happened one time while the car turned off. I was able to disable the pump before too much water was introduced into the intake manifold.
