Engine oil, from the factory ?

Hi Chaps,
Having my first 1200 mile service this week, and have a question, regarding the factory fill engine oil. Does anyone know, if BMW fill the engine with semi synthetic, or a running in oil ?. Various cars ive had in the past have been filled with this type of oil, from the factory, to aid bedding in, over the first few miles. Changing to the full synthetic oil, at the first service, will obviously offer full protection from then onwards. Thankyou, regards, SIMON.

Not really sure Simon but since certain dealers have changed the engine oil earlier than the recommended 1200 miles, I assume that the oil from the factory is the same BMW 5W-30 the manual calls for and not a specific 'running-in oil'. Also, engines are so well manufactured these days that I'm not sure that any car comes with a true running in oil. I'm sure someone will prove me wrong soon though! lol

Just had the running in service. Changed with the regular 0/30 oil.
