The hotter materials are, the easier they catch fire imho.
But the one flame from the exhaust pushed inwards by the wind was indeed the spark that started it.

Lesson 1: always have a fire extinguisher in your supercar (although now insurance gets him a new one )

I am not sure the car exploding immediately after that initial little flame started was that much of a threat to be honest. By that example, even being parked right behind the car would be equally dangerous so the guy should have backed out of there or something. I don't think the guy was worried about it exploding immediately after the flame started, he was probably too panicked or lazy to go up to the guy to tell him. lol
