My adventure with a busted tire
Greetings Everyone, as some of you may know i like to drive. I like to drive a lot meaning i put about 31k miles in a little over a year. I managed to wonder off to New York city from Greensboro last night and i thought hey let me visit the hamptons bays. On my way back i was keeping up with (newyorker) traffic which was going pretty darn fast. My radar detector goes beepbepp and i see a cop ahead of me, i hit the breaks and the car hit a pothole and baaaamammmmmm. I was like hmmm that doesn't sound too nice. I immediately take an exit and discovered that the impact tore my tire (Michelin pilot super sport). That is quite a problem it being 2am in the morning on a sunday and i have a flight to catch tomorrow in a different state put me in a bit of a problem. I thought my front left wheels were gone, my tire was definitely gone and nothing being open meant i was stuck. BMW roadside could only take me to the nearest bmw which is closed on sundays and i need the car on Monday. After a lot of searching on Yelp i found a tire store like 20 miles away, i filled the car up with air and went off. They had a Continental Extremcontact DWS. The rest are the Michelins. I am driving back to Greensboro in an hour and was wondering is it okay to use one different tire on a approximately 560 mile road trip? never the less I'm going to get the michilens back when I'm back from my trip because we only get snow for a month or two in the whole year if that. Good luck everyone be careful with these potholes

Luckily i made it back to Greensboro. It sure wasn't the trip of the year. @RpiM5 i may take you up in that offer one day . Lessons i have learnt, don't drive the m5 in new york. Its either get rear ended because you are doing the speed limit or burst your tire with a pot hole. I remember the last time i went to new york i had little parking bumps all over the front and the rear of my car.

Those tires are actually really good winter tires (they work) I may just change the remaining Pilot SS and use these ones for the winter. Anybody else using this specific tire?
