has anybody tried a 12.5j rear?
i will be running stock tire sizes - let the flaming begin lol...
my car is bagged now, looking to build some wheels and run: 20x10.5j et20 fronts i'm gonna add a spacer, i think i'll need an 18mm for lip to meet arch 20x12.5j et40 rears i think i'm going to need a 15mm spacer for lip to meet arch after a roll.... i know a 12j will fit under there, just need to make sure a 12.5j will - that way i can either run a little more tire if i can or run a little wider spacer if possible... i'm pretty sure my offset calculations are good - even if i go a little less aggressive i can always add a spacer.... and if you want to see the car:

Finally, a stanced F10 M!
Where did you get the rear diffuser and front splitters? Those look nice! Why don't you just get the wheels with the right offset you want without using spacers? Love that license plate also |

lol yuppp - thank you for the appreciation!

and i don't want to get the exact offsets as it's hard to make a wheel less aggressive, but easy to make it more aggressive ie. with a spacer... also i may need a spacer if the spokes don't clear the calipers... 12mm+ spacers are best as anything less will have a weak hubcentric mount or no mount at all...

The most aggressive I've seen on this forum so far is a 21x10 +25 and 21x11 +20.
So your fronts should be good without a spacer. Your rears might actually hit the strut mount on the inner side since they're a 12.5. You might wanna do a 12 or just add a spacer to clear the inside. I'm here in the states... Can you send me a link where I can get the diffuser and splitters? Or if you're not satisfied with the splitters, I'll take em off your hands! |

this guy is running 12j on the rear but won't tell me his offsets lol... slightly annoying.... there's another guy who says he ran 12j but 12.5j could comfortable fit with stock struts.... i'm gonna test fit some 11.5j wheels and measure the space left.... http://www.m-performance-uk.com/ they're a little slow, but decent... my left splitter is cracked lol, you won't want it...

and LOL it's on air suspension now - it goes up with a press of a button, sort of like hydraulics but much slower, more cushiony and better handling...

oh nah, not better than the stock suspension but better than hydraulics... tbh i haven't noticed much difference between this and the stock... it's airrex struts - the best of the best, they provide for ferraris and lambos on air ride...
i know, i love it

Seems that most with aggressive offsets at the back are running with the outer rim 15mm-20mm further out than stock at the back I think much above 15mm you will need less 'bulge' than a 295 on a 10"
I suspect but don't know that with some profile and the lack of bulge even running a 305 you could probably live with near 20mm that luvley Orange running on Ray's is 18mm with 295's The white car above is IMO at least 25mm further out than stock outer rim I intend to run a 305/30 on either a 11.5 or 12 and don't want to roll the rear arches its how much room you have on the inside |

11.5j et38 would stick out 15mm more than stock - he says it's roughtly flush which makes sense seeing as that's the spacer people run to gain a flush look.... hopefully his measurement of strut to wheel gap is accurate based on that: 11.5j et48 would hit the strut.... 12j et42 would hit the strut - it would also stick out 17mm more than stock 12.5j et35 would hit the strut - it would stick out 31mm more than stock i think i can go to 12.5j et25 after a roll - this should be 10mm away from the strut tonight i'm going to try on a wheel which is 11.5j et7 - my calculations say this should poke 8mm... and i'll try find out the distance to the strut - only thing is, i have airrex struts which i think are narrower than OEM ones... but we shall see... also, the wheel builder is letting me know what offsets i can run to get different size dishes today

By the way this site is useful for a quick calc check doesn't cover the tyre differences but useful http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...1-5&offset2=35

my measurements were about 1-2mm out but almost perfect
10j et10 fronts - i predicted a 14mm spacer would be required, it was closer to 12mm... that means 10j et-2 = 10.5j et4... my wheels will be 10.5j et15 so i can get a spacer on for perfect... rear was 11.5j et7 - i predicted it to poke 8mm but the spokes hit the caliper so i couldnt check... on hindsight i should have tried the front wheel on the rear but oh well my rears will be 12.5j et35 pictures will follow - probably in a month or so...

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=28 i need to know the rim to strut distance as i will be stretching so the rim would hit before the tire... if it's 9-10mm more ontop of 38mm on 10j et19, then we can assume 10j et67 would hit the strut - this = 12.5j et35 would hit the strut... my calculations were correct based on the x5 wheels from before

Yep correct strut to rim 38mm+9-10mm, so 47-48mm. This with KW V3 and I read somewhere the damper tubes might be a bit thicker, so less clearance than stock (they look very similar to me but haven't measured.
The other point is exactly where the widest point of the tyre rim sits as the damper tube is nor parallel to the wheel, I cant recall if the gap increases marginally as you go up from wheel centre to outer edge or visa versa ! I think I could see that a 21 might end up with fractionally more clearance so the gap must increase |

ahh that's a good point! 21s would clear easier than 20s... also i've just realised that i've been spelling tyres as tires for the americans, but it's only you i'm talking to and you're from the UK lol
