beautiful car.

yeah it shouldn't have those side markers.
yeah it should come with 5000 horsepower.
yeah it should rev up to 16,000rpm.
yeah it should sound like a ferrari.
yeah why not, it should come with friggin' lambo doors and maybe even fly a little bit.

Admire it for what it is. I'm sure the new M5 will kick ass.

Definitely looks better in motion but the side grilles are really an eye sore! Can't wait for the comparisons and see how they stack up with the competition and the E60!

I’m tiered of people whining about the red line. Did you guys just become BMW fans over the last 6-8 years?? Every M engine before 200x did not rev over 8K. High revving is not the norm it was the exception. It was a small era and now it is over due to political and enviornmental factors. If this comes as a shock to you, you must live under a rock.

I mean, really. I really dont care about the whole RPM thing. I mean, seriously, this is not what BMW is about. Some people are also saying that they want the V10 or make it 600+hp. WAKE UP GUYS! Do you really like BMW? Are you guys really BMW lovers? BMW is fun to drive at the same time practical. And now, with the new M5, it is even fuel efficient! 31MPG(EU cycle) on highway? WOW! I know EPA rating would be a little bit different, but still, it is amazing. Even people who want a M car doesnt care about this green thing, but BMW still made it. This is the company I am respected. This is what BMW is about.

"a newly developed high-revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo package."

It was newly developed back in September of 2009 when it came out in the X5M
Unless they count 5hp extra as a new development

Torque is KING! And extremely fun for daily driving That's a sharp looking car! And FI from the factory means this baby will make 700hp tuned.

No kidding. I am SO sick of hearing:

It should have 600 hp
It should have 600 ft-lbs
It should rev to 9,000 RPM
It should weigh 3800 lbs
It should be better than the Panamera / E63 / CTS-V

Wah, wah, wah.

The car will kick ass. Period. Will those other cars do something, even many things, better? Maybe.

But really, who the hell cares.

My tweaked e90 N54 broke traction commuting to work one day when I floored it from 30 to 60...ish... It caught me by surprise the first time and I just had to try it again the second time I can only imagine what the F10 550i Dinan owners feel, let alone what the first test drive in this beast would be like.

Your list reminds me of this skit (nsfw; language)

You guys have to realize that the new M5 is going to be the HIGHEST HORSEPOWER SEDAN in the WORLD when it comes out (except for the bentley continental flying spur speed, but that's almost triple the price and almost 1500 pounds heavier)... I don't understand why anyone would complain about that.

I do wish the new M5 would be a screamer like the e60, but the world is changing guys and nothing is going to be a high rev monster anymore save for some exotics.
thank you. exactly right, the car is going to be a monster stock, and with a tune its going to be basically insane. not revving to infinity isnt a huge issue, and no its not going to sound like the e60 but it will sound plenty good enough. hell 560hp at MODERATE boost = 650+ hp potential with just a tune. i think that should EASILY compensate for the e60's sound.

The numbers on the F10 M5 are very impressive but I still prefer the E60 M5. Those V10's were engineering marvels, one of the best engines ever built.
