Geico Mechanical Breakdown Excluded on 2015 M5?

It seems that you can get MBI coverage from Geico on a new 2014 M5 / m6 but you cannot get any coverage for 2015 m5 / m6.

Their warranty for MBI has a $250 deductible and generally is a great value for 7year/100k coverage for ~$100/year.

Does anyone else have this problem getting MBI coverage on a 2015?

I'm a big fan of the MBI from Geico. I have it on all of my cars, but I was denied it for my 2015 R8. No rationale given, only that they didn't offer it for that car. Then again, they couldn't even quote me with just the VIN - had to ask me for the MSRP. So I have a feeling they probably just don't cover cars over a certain dollar figure or something.

That's unfortunate, its one of the main reasons I stay with Geico. It's the only thing that would make me comfortable about keeping the M5 past warranty.

Perhaps Geico has been hit recently with some significant claims on these higher end cars.

Have you ever made an MBI claim with Geico? My fear would be they use third-party shops and parts.

I have used MBI on a previous M3 I owned. Car was at the BMW dealer, covered all OEM BMW parts and labor.
