Optiguard is more durable and more effective at shedding water. 22PLE is more glossy but only lasts 2 years and scratches more easily.

Either way you should top it with Sonax Polymer Net Shield which adds further gloss. I am very happy with my OptiGuard, Sonax Polymer Net Shield and Aquapel setup. It's really amazing to wash the car with a pressure washer and see the water run off the paint.

Yea I never planned on doing Opti - but when I got my clear bra, they were also doing Opti on a car there, gave me a little demo and I was sold. Going back June 1st - he also showed me the 22PLE as an option, said pretty much what you said to describe it, more shine, but temporary.

Stealth - is this Sonax stuff something I can just do on my own? Is that like a regular waxing?

Yes you can do it by yourself. However if you go to Phil he finishes with that stuff anyway. It's pretty quick.

Got the Opti Pro done this past weekend, got home and saw some bird crap caked on my hood since it was so hot out. Took some warm water and a towel and it slid right off. I also noticed the beading of the small specks of water I left on the hood. Cant wait to wash the car to see what its like.

Ended up doing a one step paint correction, he showed me the swirls and iron build up from just 2 weeks of ownership and the trip over from Germany. It was clearly evident wen he polished just half my tail lamp and had me compare the difference. Money well spent imo, thanks again to this forum and u Stealth for recommending it. Ill post some pics of my tint as well, very happy with how the 55% turned out.
