Competition vs performance exhaust
Does anyone have a direct comparison and sound clips of the bmw competition package exhaust vs the bmw performance exhaust. Is the competition a good enough upgrade from the base exhaust that you don't need to upgrade to the performance? Has anyone here done the upgrade from the competition exhaust and if so what are your impressions? Thanks

Also, the Competition Exhaust does sound better than stock, but only while revving it at a stand still or driving with the windows down. With the windows up it sounds exactly the same as stock.

Competition Exhaust: Standard M5 exhaust system with the baffles pulled out. Therefore it's slightly louder than the standard exhaust.
M Performance Exhaust: A reworked exhaust system for the M5. Made by Akrapovic. Purchasing the Akra exhaust would be the same thing as purchasing the M Performance Exhaust. They just have different tips.

I think that the CP exhaust is much more noticeable even with the windows up. Maybe I am forgetting the dB of the stock exhaust but I do not remember it being as loud as my CP.

It arrived at the dealership a couple of days ago but I'm trying to sort out the m3 going back earlier. As I'm soooo impatient! Having the m perf rear spoiler fitted too so waiting for the nod when she's ready after pdi... Can't wait! How about you, when are you collecting/ ordering yours?

Bet you are counting down the hours of the day till you get your car Make sure you post pics and do a write up on what your impressions are.. As for me, I'm still tied into a lease, but just heard there maybe a little loophole, so let's see what future has to offer in the new financial year

but as you can find an used akra in the market time to time (5-5.5k including tips), it maybe worth buying an used one instead of getting it at MSRP even if it's lease.
