Best catless downpipes for the price?

So I know that this topic has been talked about many many times but I can never find a concrete answer on what to exactly do,
As we all know the prices for catless downpipes for our cars vary from $400 all the way up to $2-3k so I just wanna know if truly it's worth the price. I understand that you pretty much get what you pay for in terms of fitment but I can't justify myself spending $2000 on a pipe that it most likely mass produced and isn't even the quality that they state it is

Again I'm open to opinions and what everyone thinks because I'm lost on what to get

Currently thinking up picking up a pair of FABWORX downpipes, they seem to be decently made and for a semi decent price

Also I can see that the cheapest option would be VRSF but I've heard horror stories about those when it comes to fitment… but at the same time I've heard horror stories about $1500 downpipes as well so, I'm sure y'all can see I'm very lost on what to do

Also, what have you guys gotten quoted at your local shops for an install?

I have heard great things about fabworx but I personally have a set of RK catless which I sent to Swain Tech for coating. It took about 5 weeks for the coating folks to return them. The folks at SLG work with a company that micro welds a header insulation and is supposed to have a far better benefit to containing heat and protecting the engine. I paid 600 for my install.

I'm running evolution racewerks downpipes. Got them used for a great price. But brand new Fabworx is the best bang for your buck.

We don't sorry. However you could send them over to swaintech like one of the guys above said. All in all you would still probably be under the 500 mark making it one hell of an upgrade.

I was fairly impressed with the quality of the CTS Turbo catted downpipe. It has some heat shielding like the firewall material.

Their catless downpipe is on sale now and also looks pretty well-designed.

https://www.ctsturbo.com/product/cts...m6c-downpipes/

Another good aspect of this is you have two mounting brackets much like the stock downpipe. Some brands that cost more only have one bracket and rely on the turbo V-band clamp to secure the pipe.

My Indy shop has had good results with the CTS Turbo parts.

Yep, I bought the most expensive ones I could find and I have had nothing but problems tbh.

The Meisterschaft 90mm catless downpipes. I'm on my second set and they both rattled. Then with so many installs I ended up having an issue of a loose ecu which nobody could find for a long time.

I ended up wrapping the bottom (where it connects to the exhaust) but now a year later it's starting to rattle a bit again.

Installs around the SF Bay Area are $1200+ so this has been a pretty costly experience.

Damn, sorry to hear, I guess it just begs the question what's the point of spending over $1000 when you can just buy a $300 downpipe like MAD had posted up in this thread.

Probably one of my biggest nerve racking purchases

How do you manage cops when it comes to your exhaust lol, that's the only reason why I haven't pulled the trigger yet living in cali

I used to have a 550i before this m5 and it was fully straight piped

I had gotten two state referee's on it

That's what I'm trying to say too, I thought price was an indicator of quality (it usually is). Not in this case.

One of the shops I work with have had good luck with VRSF downpipes.

As for the cops, I try to be really careful of when I hit it and close my valves when they're around. I have the Akrapovic/M-performance titanium exhaust so it isn't as loud as full straight pipe. I've received two tickets with it and both didn't mention the exhaust.

I took a chance and ordered some. They look great , and welds are on point. I will install this weekend. These downpipes look worth more than they are selling.
