Taking off and stopping is jerky

Its been awhile since Ive been in a DCT, so please forgive me. But my CPO M5 seems to literally jump out of the hole no matter how gentle I am with the throttle. No, Im serious!

Keeping it in efficient throttle mode and the adjustment dial all the way down certainly helps with this, but I dont recall my DCT E92 M3 acting like this.

I almost feel like it drops the clutch at the very last second before engagement. I keep seeing my passengers head slap the back of there seats no matter how gentle I roll into the throttle.

I also feel that when pulling into a parking spot. That even the slightest amount of brake seems to immediately stop the car. Ill be pulling into my garage giving it a gentle push as I get all the way in and BAM, car just locks up and stops and heads go forward.

It's like all or nothing on both gas and brake. Is this how the M5 is?

Good to finally see someone else complaining about the same thing. I hate the move off part as it either makes me look retarded when the light turns green cos I am not moving, or it'll snap away like a crazy boy racer. The latter happens cos I ended up applying more throttle input due to the car not moving off. It's impossible to move off gently and progressively like the E92 M3 or other automatic BMWs I have had...

Do you also feel some shuddering on rear end specially when you back up on clod engine? I had the same issue and complained for months and finally after 10 months the dealer got approval from BMWNA (after their rep came to test drive my car) to replace the clutch kit and flywheel!

Exactly! Oh man this is not good. I wonder if some DCT tune/tweak could fix this? It's ridiculous! Thank you for confirming. May I ask what year your M5 is?

I can't say I feel any shudder. Yours is a manual?

I was more or less thinking of euro DCT and or a DCT tune to try and fix the lunging. I remember reading that the E9X M3 DCT guys found that Euro DCT software was smoother and quicker.

I will prob go to the dealer and compare with a comp pack M5 to see if the same issue manifests itself.

What throttle setting do you have the car in? sport? sport+?

I have a '14 CP and leave it in efficient mode and don't have any problems with the car jumping off the line.

It's prevalent regardless of what throttle mapping I am in. Although efficient mode is by far the least jerky.

I have a 2014 CP and no problems in efficient/comfort mode. In sport+ it becomes hard to control the throttle. Also what is your transmission set to? I have no problems in comfort mode and easily park my car in tight situations with precision.

What you're describing is nothing like what I have experienced. That sounds annoying. The only way I can produce such a response would be to manually linger in 1st gear as I'm slowing at a light (especially in Sport +). I would have your dealership take a look.

I have exact same issues as OP, Clar and M6-coupe describing.

I have a race vs manhart m5 next sunday, who claims he has fastest m5 in uk and then i am bringing my car back to stock and bring it to bmw, as i feel like BMW UK will need to be involved!

My mech at bmw told me its definitely not normal and he will try to request brand new gearbox for me! Cause in bmw bulletin it states (from his words) that if there is problem with gearbox and computer clutch readjustment wont fix it, they suppose to provide me with new gearbox, as they are not allowed to fix it!
Lets see what is going to happen!

But i will definitely let him know what could be a solution for a fix, however obviously would prefer new gearbox

It sounds like we have the similar problem but I only experience twice in last 10 months but the experience was worst. When I started the car in the morning and trying to back up.. the car won't move as I felt something from the rear end is being locked and not able to move the car. So I had to keep trying gradually more with gas pedal until I stepped very hard on gas and heard a crazy "LOUD" metal cracking sound from the back end to move my car. It happened twice. Do you think it could be the same problem as yours? Clutch kit and flywheel? But I cannot reproduce the problem and don't know when will come back again.

Get the throttle actuators checked.

I don't think you have the same issue! Mine was every single morning and even in last months every time during the day if I would park the car more than couple hours! Meanwhile I did not feel that locking you referred to.
I guess yours could be something related to e-brake or bearing.
