My point exactly. It's like there's a gag order regarding SSP. Evolve was a huge SSP proponent. For them to switch to Deka in the middle of the night is interesting. That's all from me.

I actually spoke with Evolve with my current SSP issues...hopefully mine have been fixed fingers crossed after I put on some mileage. Anyway Evolve told me that they had no issues with SSP and only decided to move to Deka due to supply and demand. With them being overseas they can get Deka clutches faster.

How’d this turn out?

Sounds like yours is behaving exactly the same way as mine, OGNinja, and RockNDoc, all who had catastrophic failures. I stopped driving mine before I lost the trans. Having a stock clutch put back in, hoping no damage to the trans.

Clutch won't be out until next week. I'll have some pictures when it is. Kris still hasn't responded to my email about the situation. Not sure what resolution there can be as I'm not putting that thing back in my car. 5k wasted most likely and another 2 if it damaged the trans.

I wish there was more info about the deka.

On the bright side my akra exhaust arrived.

Sorry man. The clutch has issues - I don’t think it’s a question anymore.

And people laughed when I said Carbahn recommended stock clutches on all their builds.

2 year and unlimited mileage warranty from factory apparently.

Here's what an SSP Spec X clutch with 600 miles looks like.

Ouch. I'm getting my failed spec r clutch out next. Going back to a brand new oem clutch. Sucks because of my setup I'll have to take a lot of power out of the car.😭. Had issues with down shifts, slipping, and harsh engagement. Now it's so bad it starts to slip bad under partial throttle.

I talked to Deka but they are Ukraine based so can't count on getting one from them for awhile. So I bought a stock one and I'll use the xHP flash once it's broken in. I'm hopeful it'll hold up.

That's my exact plan also with the stock clutch. I was on stage 3 tune with meth and stock turbos on my stock clutches before upgrading. Had zero issues with the stock clutch. And had plenty of runs on the stock clutch.

Are you using the factory transmission pan?

This is a disappointing thread. Its been all SSP on this forum. We need some people to try different clutches.

I heard Dodson clutches suck for bmw's and only heard good things about dekka in the f80 m3 community. Nothing about it in the m5 community. I'll stick with the factory clutches till I decide to get a f90.

We're basically saying the same thing. It's been all SSP on this forum. Mainly because SSP was very responsive and active on the forum. Since the issues, nothing but crickets.

Finished breaking in my new oem clutch with the xHP stage 3 tune. Car shifts way better than it did with the SSP. Obviously had to turn the power back down. I'm running my BEF stage 3 from DME tuning tune with the PS2 turbos. So far, so good 😊

Not sure. I'm on shitty 91 octane in California and running 23psi. Probably 670whp and probably 700wtq or close to it.

I just put 1100 miles on my 2nd set (warrantied) SSP clutches...First set were super sluggish and toasted on a full throttle downshift into 3rd. On throttle downshifts still suck, slow sluggish on throttle downshifts. Feels like the clutches will toast again if I full throttle and the car downshifts manual or auto. Would say they did get a little better but I still do not have enough faith in them to use as intended.
