I saw a BMS customer tuned M5 dynojet sheet the other day that was in the 68x range STD on race gas without meth. I think all the tunes can produce in that power range. Which seems to be good for around 11.0@130mph at the 1/4 mile. What I'm waiting for is someone to break in to the 10s!

I have given enough info. My car makes a little over 800 bhp at the crank, proven on a Maha dyno. It is a good dyno used by many car manufacturers, but as always people never believe any dyno that is why I wanted to stay away from the discussion.
I am going to do my top speed run in Germany if conditions permit. We'll see how fast the car is. |

That will make a great contribution to the forum. But unfortunately no one but you can do that since we don't have top speed limiter removed here stateside.
Do you have a Vbox? Why not bring a Vbox with you to Germany and do some real tests, and actually confirm your topspeed with the GPS of the Vbox. Going on your speedometer is useless. Tell us what you do 0 to 100mph, 60 to 130mph etc. That will make the best possible contribution.

For us USA folks please get some mph readings or 60 to 130s, and 100 to 200mph. If you can that would be great!

M-bitious.... How about Dyno on a Dyno jet just to see where your numbers are we don't care about drivetrain losses but it gives an idea where other members are at with there Dyno figures and mods. As for comparing my M6 and my M5 I feel like my M5 is producing more power from the factory. Even on the same Dyno with less mods my M5 is close in power to my M6. I plan to have the exact modifications to compare both in racing and Dyno numbers. So that is the reason people are asking not because they're trying to say your claims are not a reality. I know if my car is pushing 670 whp in 5th and still have another 1000 rpm to go I'm pretty sure in 6th my car should be pushing 700whp easy that's over 800 HP at the Crank. Good luck! |

For a good ET isn't the launch critical? I'd like for someone to test/sacrifice the durability of the drivetrain with just the stock motor and use properly sized true drag slicks that will provide as much traction as possible. I think that would require changing the rear brakes to allow a smaller rim diameter, so not a simple thing to do. And not something most owners of an M5 would want to do, but it would be interesting! With that mod done, would the manual transmission possibly have the advantage of high rpm clutch dump starts for the best launch?

Here you go that's in burnout mode an drag radials basically high rpm clutch dumped and no wheel spin.
Look at the 60 ft and I have a best at 1.68 60ft all three were done in burnout mode very consistent Quote:

I'm not up to date on current drag racing specs, but your 60' times look real good! NO wheel spin, really? I would have thought even a stock M5 would over power drag radials. But, as I said I'm not up with current tech in drag racing. Don't real drag slicks give better traction than drag radials? Obviously that wouldn't matter if you're not burning up the tires you have now. Great times and speeds, congrats!!

Yeah these were TOYO R888's amazing tires. My best 60ft when using launch control were 1.89 not enough power to get it going. I just happened to try burn out mode for the hell of it and actually the first time scared the hell out of me because I was expecting it to burn the tires and I would have to feather the throttle. It just took off like a jet fighter! The only thing is you have to time it perfect for the light because there is a delay. Only ran it three times and all three times were 1.7's and a best 1.68 and all 11.0 flat in hot as temps in the high 80's to 90's F Can't wait to go back now that my meth set up has adapted to see if I can get high 10's. just wish for some cooler weather |

Stock rear wheel only with 285 35 20's I only bolt them up for the track
There is room for 315 30 20's that's for sure and if I decide to go to a road coarse ill swap these tires to the front a buy another set of the 315's for the rear Either way both set will fit the rear an even the 285's are hooking good |
