Audi RS5 US pricing announced.

The Audi RS 5 starts at 68,900 not including destination. That's pretty steep compared to the competition. Which almost have a 10k cheaper price tag.

Not too bad. I built one for fun on the Audi site, ended about $3-4k more than the way I would order the current M3. Its worth it for the exclusivity, definitely less likely to see an RS5 on the road than any of the competition. Cool car, one of last new V8 NA German performance cars for a while.

The car is gorgeous on the outside, but I am not a fan of the interior. Too busy. I also never understood why exclusivity is such a problem for people.

Knew it'd be price close to the competition. Whoever thought it would cost 90k or more from the direct conversion of euro cost are morons.

Price is not bad but it should have brought the TT V8 from the S6 to be relevant in todays sport car market.

Agreed. This car would have so much more potential with that engine. But it looks like they want to keep the high revving NA 4.2 V8 for longer, and that doesnt bother me. It's a great motor.

Add a couple of options and your over $75k. It's not as good a deal as an M3, but it's a much better deal than an M6. Is this a limited production run?

Nobody will cross shops between the RS5 and the M6.

I disagree. I think there are a lot of older, rich-ish guys out there who want a prestigious badge on a pretty car with a reputation for speed, but is quite comfortable. Though it has more power, I think the M6 has become bloated, over-priced and is confused over what it is - a snobish comfy coupe for wealthy badge whores or a serious M-car (is there still such a thing?). I can see other people considering the RS5 as an alternative particularly if looks are very important.

there's the "prestige" of the RS brand, which gained massive popularity Stateside due to rave reviews in Europe and the restricted availability. This is the first RS that people have been looking forward to in a long time (who cares about the TT RS), but the one I'd really go for is the RS4 Avant :-) Too bad it's not making its way over (duh Audi).

My bad, it was a pretty loose comment... never fancied the TT from way back when.

I was at my local Audi store today (scoping the 2013 S4) and a guy was trading in his 2012 S4 with 4,000 miles and ordering an RS5. He's gonna take a bath on that one, but the RS5 is pretty cool.

$77K base up here versus $71 700 for an M3 coupe.

Too bad the Audi dealerships are a joke to deal with or this might be an interesting option.

My buddy at work just traded his S5 for the RS5. It's pretty nice but the lack of a manual is pathetic. I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm not on my iPad.

I saw a 98k frozen black coupe last year in North Vancouver. A Montecalo Blue coupe sold in Richmond for 96k. A darka yellow coupe sold for 94k at BMW Vancouver.

Audi prices the RS5 9k more in Canada than in USA. Guess they are not ready to make a move like MB did.
