Rod Bearings and Bolts
Hi Guys,
After some quick advice on for some new bearings and rod bolts on my 2017 X5m. I am looking at kings for the bearings but am stuck in choosing the correct kit based on the bearings locking tabs. I am looking at the GPC kits, and have found these 2. According to ISTA the upper shells have opposite sided tabs, and lowers have same sided. Looking at another members job, all his bearings looking like the tabs were on the opposite side for upper and lower. https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1901670&page=2 ISTA bearing diagram. Main page: http://www.king-catalog.com/Catalog/Engine/20179363 Kit 1: http://www.king-catalog.com/Catalog/Set/CR8049GPC Kit 2: http://www.king-catalog.com/Catalog/Set/CR8050GPC Based on the forum post the opposite sided kit is correct (CR8050GPC). So to anyone whos done this, which kit is the correct? Also, looking for some Rod bolts to replace the stock, and not deal with stupid torque sequence. Can't find the correct P/N for APR. Suggestions? Cheers. |

So after some reading, it looks the ones in mine are the (1) style for both, upper and lower.
Also starting to look at the ACL bearings, does anyone have any experience with these. Was looking at using the H-STD for the upper and HX-STD for the lower. On the bolts front, it looks like there is nothing after market for these with the stock rods. For the torque sequence, is anyone able to config if its 1AZ or 2AZ? I've seen people reference 2AZ a bit, but it makes no sense to loosen and retighten a stretch bolt 4 times. This will be on existing rods, just new BMW OEM bolts. |
Appreciate
