I love modding my car

Fixing up this m5 to my personal taste had been a joy. I get so many thumbs up from other car enthusiasts. I enjoy the way the car drives especially after adding different exhaust components. Lowering the vehicle to me made the car handle better. If you are not a car junkie like most of us and don't like spending money on your car but talk shit about us who do, well your not a true car enthusiast.

Hi Boots, do you have a thread where you have posted lots of pics of your car? Would like to check it out and see what you've done...

No but I can post up a couple of pics late today when I'm on the computer. I've not done any cosmetic additions yet other than add a clear bra. Mine is lowred on h&r springs, powder coated wheels, macht snell spacers, Rpi everything, and bms piggy. I may purchase splitters and maybe a trunk lip from Indy or Eas but haven't gotten to it.

You got that right. Stock m5 is so boring and yesterday. I bet 99% of us has done some mods and enjoyed every bit of it. But I know a couple who think putting mods on our cars are a waste of money. Shame on them. Might as well be a Robot.

Only Downside is CEL. Now that Terry can't/won't sell CEL CAN Tool anymore, doing catless downpipes is a compromise between getting that stupid DT Malf message and gaining a lot of hp and tq in the mid-range and a lot of increased sound from the exhaust. Then again, I drove with the CEL for about 20,000 miles and the only time it bothered me was when I tried to go WOT for more than a few seconds. Other than that it's not that bothersome.

True true. Resistance is futile when trying not to go wot. But hopefully bms can fix things to sell to everyone again.

My first post but been following the forum with great interest since I got ’14 M5 a few months back. The amount of available aftermarket mods for M5 is so much better than what’s out there for the F12 650i, I had previously.
I had the distinct pleasure to meet Boots yesterday and had the opportunity to see his M5 in action, for the purpose to hear the RPI GTM in person. Boy, it did not disappoint….mind-blowing!! That RPI GTM and DP set up sounds terrific and loud. It is most certainly not for the faint hearted and there is noticeable drone in the 1800-2100RPM range but isn’t that part of the fun though? The overall power gain and response was just unbelievable and makes my car feel ‘average’ now. Have to change that now!

As a newbie, I am looking forward to learning more about the M5 and happy to contribute where value can be added to the discussion. Also looking forward to meeting others during the next Houston meet.

Boots, thanks for allowing me the opportunity and congrats on a wonderful set up!!!

Yes, Boots is strong with the Force. I have taught him well. You can learn much from him (and Vic55 ). But beware of the path of the darkside. The RPi GTM is like the main gun on the Death Star, it can destroy Alderaan.

Have you tried deleting using other means? I used the plx kiwi bluetooth. Clears the CEL but leaves a permanent code. So far Ive been lucky and no DT Malf, but then I am running SS 200 cell cats.

I have the BMS Tool thingy. So I don't worry about the CEL anymore. The thing is worth gold on the black market.

Thanks for the kind words Mark. It was nice meeting you and Al. I know he had as much fun as we did. What mark didn't tell u guys is I also let him drive the beast. So I finally got a chance to feel the power of my car as my wife really doesn't drive fast. Diff fun experience. Now you got to go on one of my country runs w you M5. The force was strong when Dave used his force push to direct me and purchase this lovely exhaust. Of course I had to but it from Trinity Autosports from Nerwell. Best advice ever Dave. Oh yea! Mark if you want great service and prices contact Nerweezy at Trinty. You can't go wrong. Alderoon won't be the same as the exhaust explosion from the Mighty Gtm disentigrated it.

After a long drive in the Yukon today w the family, I still had to catch some wind through this bald head in the M. Boy does this car like to pull hard. And that rumble just puts a smile on my face.

.......B, you are hilarious. Why on earth would you mod such a nice family car I mean think of all the other things you could do with that money. Now back to a regularly scheduled program............modding is in our DNA. Even if you haven't fallen victim to the mod bug (yet), I'm sure you enjoy reading the mod adventures of us addicts on the forum. Mod your whip or return it!!!........Phil
