The reasons most dealerships will not have a fully specd car with every single option is simple. Most dealerships (including mine) floor plan their cars, meaning that they dont tie up their money in the inventory....they use the bank's money. Which means that they pay interest on that car everyday that it sits on the lot. If youre a floor planning dealer, you order cars that will sell fast and not sit on your lot and cost too much interest. The more options you order a car with, the more expensive the car gets, the more interest per day you pay, the LESS likely someone will come in a scoop up a 130k sticker M5 vs one "nicely equipped" at 105-110k. Otherwise every dealer would have individual colors with CCB and competition pkgs hanging around the dealership!!
That being said, to order this kind of car at any option level without something as simple as bluetooth or backup camera or navi is simply asinine. Shame on BMW though for not having those options standard. I sell 16k honda civics that ALL come with bluetooth and backup camera as standard equipment even if u get the bargain basement LX model.

my friends bought 2 x6m's this year from same dealership
full options: full leather, cameras, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, best sound system they offer on x6m, etc etc

on the way home both realised there is NO bluetooth!!! WTF???
95k car DOES NOT HAVE BLUETOOTH AS STANDARD OPTION!!! seriously???
when u press TEL on iDrive, nothing happens... why there is a button which does not do anything... its not 118d, even those cars have bluetooth as standard option these days...

showrooms should order FULL SPEC cars, so people can see every single option and maybe then they decide not to wait for a car, just buy it outright... this marketing does not make sense for me
Odd, the bmwusa web site shows it as standard.

I bet the car had it and this was a case of user error.

Hi B-1,
The source is the latest brochure for the "New BMW M5". It describes the 601M wheels as forged in this brochure. Hopes this helps, and is correct.

This brochure?

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle..._catalogue.pdf

Here the 343M are listed explicitly as forged, whereas the 601M are simply referred to as "light alloy".

Yes, thats the one, and i can just make out, on pages 22 and 24 of yours, that it does not say forged, when referring to the wheels, but in this UK brochure i have here, it does say they are forged. Where yours says bicolour, ours doesnt say that, it just says forged light alloy wheel. Sorry im not proficient enough to post a copy of this for you, but it does say forged rims for the 601 design.

Bluetooth settings are somewhat tucked/hidden away. You have to go into the settings menu and set it up through there. However I thought when no phones are paired, and you hit TEL, it gives you a "link" to the BT menu in settings.

UK F10 M5 LCI pricing guide specifies the 601Ms as forged, however, could be a error & also highly unlikely that BMW would create forged 601Ms only for the UK market.

Apologies in advance for poor quality (2nd generation scan).

WOW, thanks.

So the controversy continues. This does not match what BMWUSA has told other board members.

In either case I love the look of the 601s, even more so in person. I can deal with the weight increases, and if they are really forged they will be stronger and should stay in round better.

Looks like you didn't find Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini of Washington which is less than 2 blocks away...or did you? I was just at Sterling a few weeks ago and there were no M5s on the lot. I'll have to swing by for a look this week. I'm itching to swap out the 550i (stage 16).

our rear 601 looks like its 1/2" wider than your UK version unless I am reading it wrong?

I think someone at BMW should fact check these before they go live.

PARROT in X6M costing almost 100k

If i bought 100k car without bluetooth, i would take that car back and beat the salesman with a stick. What is it 2001? Honda Civic has bluetooth as standard now in every car.

I think wheels for CP is growing on me now.
