Does anyone have the M Performance Steering Wheel?

Does anyone have the M Performance steering wheel? Not the digital one. The carbon fiber alcantara one.

Is it only me that hates the new style Navi screens that stick out like a sore thumb?
M5's screen just looks like it's meant to be there, but the new f30, f15's, etc are horrible.

Yeah. I hate the new screens too. Look like shit.

Also, don't those alcantara wheels start to look like shit after a bit of use. I heard they don't wear well?

I have one in my M3 and it has held up really well - just don't drive and eat a greasy hamburger!

All hand sweat and grease will get stuck and make it looks like shit in 3-4k miles.
but the trick is: using electric tooth brush, water and microfiber towel, you can make it almost new.

I had it on my M3 and it was so annoying that I have to clean it every 3-4k miles. So I don't think it's worth it. I wish BMW makes flat bottom steering wheels like Audi's (and keep the nice leather as-is).

Agree about the screens. Seems to be the new style that all manufacturers are going too. You can bet the next 5 series will have it as well.

I'm not sure but I think the Alcantara wheels cannot have the heating function.

They don't look great and don't feel too robust (buy the way, congrats on new F15 - I'm too lazy to post on other thread - lol).

Something about the graphics on the previous F30 courtesy car I had was also off (not sure if just lower resolution, it had prof nav). I would like to think that the F15 graphics are as least as good as F10 though?

Only if you have an LCI M5. If you have a pre LCI you will need to change the air bag, DCT paddles, wire harness.

Here is a photo on the IND M5 (Pre-LCI)

Yeah. They're OEM and some of our BMW vendor dealers are selling it online:

bmwpartspros.com has the best price ($834.15) but you're stuck with tax (they're in Camarillo, CA) and has to pay shipping (they kinda rip you off with shipping - I live 100 miles away but they charge $65 for shipping for the steering wheel).

http://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloca...catalogid=8798

getbmwparts.com has them for higher price ($935) but no tax and free shipping.

It takes 20-30 mins to install.
So you can expect to pay max. 1 hour of labor.
But no need to install at the overpriced dealer.
Just find a good local shop to install.

no- as I stated earlier post, I was so annoyed with cleaning every a few months on my previous M3, I decided not to get it.
