Why do people go larger mm up front? It would seem as if you'd want the back out wider? Or is due to the tire size it compensates?

I have 15mm front and back and no issues at all, the car is on the same ride heights but now on KW V3's

I see no reason why you would want to change the offset to a different level front and rear or why you would need to keep the same. There is a difference in feel as the track changes and you have the theory about track, under oversteer etc. But a few mm is small. However in terms of 'feel' you can notice a difference as you change spacers and out of interest I do feel the car feels a little more balanced with the same size spacers. The most noticeable difference was when I went from 10/12 to 12/12. I preferred the feel marginally to 15/13 as well and now I'm 15/15 the car feels great but I am now on different suspension !

The most common one for F10 CP is 12 mm front and back, I have it and no issues

I put 10mm Berger on the back only. Any movement of the front setup looks awkward to me and creates more rock dusting. The 10mm on the rear created and even match all around.

15MM front and rear will fit fine, also. Keep in mind that with 10MM, the issues people have reported is due to the hubcentric mounting area being reduced, and causing more stress as a result. With 12MM+, there is additional hubcentric lip area added to the spacer for better seating of the wheel and reduced vibration potential.

My recommendation is 12MM but like I said the 15's will fit fine.

Best,
Brad

I just recently had 12 mm all around spacers installed and I am very happy with the way it looks; it looks just "perfect" I don't know how to explain it but it really changes the stance of the M5! With that being said I would definitely recommend 12mm or 15mm if you want it to be really aggressive.

I'll try and take some more when I clean it this weekend, here's one from a week or two ago, you can see how close things are 15mm spacers front and rear but zero rub and I am 10-15mm lower than stock CP heights

How's the cornering dynamic with 10mm in the rear only?
I also ordered BMS 10mm but will try out with rear only first.

If the understeer isn't too bad, I'd like to keep it in the rear only and sell 1 pair.
So your feedback would be very valuable, as there are not many who only did it in the back.

Thanks.

I assume larger front spacers is because the tires/wheels are smaller?

Correct. 12 Front / 10 Rear works well IMO.

No relation to wheel size, rolling radius of width. Just more room at the front with the arch clearance. Most are either a few mm more at the front or the same front and back.

Now that I have my eibachs in the drop looks cool but for sure need the spacers, 12mm all round, 10mm all round or 12mm front and 10mm rear? Got the 20” 343M wheels with 265/35 front tires and 295/30 rear tires, what do you guys recommend that is best, especially hearing a lot here about the 10mms and the hubcentric being better with the 12mm?

Any opinion? Did you also have to do alignment after installing the lowering springs, appears i may have to as my rear right looks to be crooked top tilting slightly inside. 12mm all round or 12mm front /10mm rear?

Hey bud I I did an alignment after kw install, you should have yours at least checked after spring install. I would do an alignment after 300 miles or so. I did 10mm all around and loved them with stock wheels. If I did it again I would possibly consider 12mm but not sure because I think the 12mm pokes the front out too much for my taste. GL

Hey bud thanks I think i will try the 12mm then all around and hopefully i like it, if not get the 10mm and sell the 12mm. I have an appt at BMW Park Av for a full service but my local mechanic said that when he worked there they didn't do alignment for non stock springs... so may need to take my car somewhere else for that. You in NJ is there morning coffee meetups somewhere i should be aware about, would be nice to meet fellow M5 owners.

Hey bud, I would try to find a specialty shop. I found a great local shop that works on everything up to R8s, 911s etc. they did great on my install and I went back after adjusting height for alignment. I'm always looking for cars and coffee myself, not much around here. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything. Mines away till the spring anyway lol.

Thanks bud. Yeh the guy i used is actually quite good just doesn't do alignment. he was actually working on a lambo after he worked on mine. Im in Bergen County and still driving the car until the snow is fully out then im back to my Volvo XC90 R-Design which is fun to drive. Got to find a specialty shop for the alignment.
Do you happen to know anyone who can do headlight retrofits, i am thinking of changing my halos for C-Shapped RGB (i know can be tacky but i love the gimmick) just haven't found anyone willing to bake open the headlights and make the retrofit.

There's a place in New York called one eighty they should be able to do it for you.
