Tire advice needed. Better traction than PSS?

We got 24k out of our OEM PPS tires which surprised me. Wife driving 80% of the time helped. I must to say I was not happy with the PSS. It is almost impossible to floor the vehicle and not get limited even with 90F outside. I almost don't want another M5 for this reason. Almost... :-) (Yeah I know the new one will be 4x4.)

So anyways, it would be nice to have something that has better traction (but still decent in the rain) even if it will not last quite as long. We only have 14k left on the lease and I doubt we will do more than 10k if even that.

Thanks for recommendations!

Vredesteins are a great tire; do a search on the forum as more and more people are running these tires. I've had them for about 6 months and like them very much; comparable in $ to all others.

Good Luck.

Thanks josec70, I did see it being mentioned here but I was not able to find a set on tirerack. Where can you order those? And how about the P Zero tires? I used to love those on my 3 series but that was a long time ago. I have not had them recently but they are on tirerack.

I'm not a fan of the P Zero tires. Owned a pair and traction was non-existent.

There are several Vredestein dealers in the US where you can get them; you can go on their website. Let me know if you have difficulty and I'll reach out to the shop here in Miami who ordered for me.

Pss was rated higher than Vredestein by the british testers. Maybe 4ps when available.

Or sport cups. I don't have my f10 yet. More options for my e9x. But when I do i may do different rears. Not the best but I'm not autocrossing. Just stop lights and drag.

The only measurement I value is traction from a dig or from a roll and in both aspects I believe the Vreds (Vorti-R) are a better tire. I'm on my 2nd M5 and have gone through a lot of tires and these have worked best for me ... I'm certainly not a tire tester this is just based on my own experience.

I currently have Pzeros and can't wait till I burn them off. Too loud even at 1400 miles and just seem hard. I've had PSS and Vreds. Vreds are softer but very quiet and handle fantastic. First drive on Vreds, I immediately could feel and hear the difference from the pss. PSS prolly will last longer but I think the Vreds are a good option. Stay with either. Everything else is a compromise.

Maybe the new 4s?

Sounds like the vreds are similar to continentals. As for the traction, the pss was rated higher. However they do suffer more than many tires in the category in colder temps. Below 40f they're useless. Maybe you're in a colder place? The new 4s is dupposed to be basically a pss but stickier. Might be worth a set.

If you could get me a website or a phone where I could order them that would be awesome. Also what is the exact model you have from them? I can see some for sale here and there but never the 20".

Let me see what information I can get you; I'm on 21" wheel setup on Ultrac Vorti R.

Vredestein Vorti R's have better traction than my previous MPSS setup. These tires are amazing.

I have noticed that the Ultrac Vorti R does not come in 295/30 only in 295/25 according to their website. Can I put these on? I have the 20" factory wheels.

I'm guessing the 305/30-20 is what people are using.

That's why you got 24k because I got less than 10K...
If you need better traction go with 305/30/20 Nitto NT05 with 200 UTQG.
It's street tire but have better traction than MPSS. http://www.nittotire.com/passenger-t...formance-tire/
