First LEMON F10 M5?

Contacting an attorney Monday morning to get the case initiated. Haven't seen my M5 since March 1st .. (this is the third time it went in for the same issue) Misfiring cylinder. I think after having owned many BMWs this was my last one for a while. I feel the F10 M5 has had so many different issues, more so than any other BMW, yes the N54 engine had it's issues with the fuel pump but it was one single problem for many people, now this M5 has been a headache for many.

Anyways, just thought I would let you guys know.

Feel free to throw out some ideas for replacement. Thus far I have considered 2014 E63, 991 c2s, GT-R, ZR1, and yes, even the new viper.

Oh forgot to mention - All this occurred within the first 1600 miles.... I am sure you guys can imagine how frustrating of a situation this is.

Good luck...coming from an M5, I would say the new E63 or CLS63. The others you listed are great cars, but in a different realm.

I would say the E63S hands down, that car is going to rock. Knock on wood I havent had any problems and I'm over 5k miles. Good luck.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Im at about 7k miles, and not a single issue. I have only been to the dealer to get the break-in service done. My other two BMW's were not this trouble free.

The AWD E63 is a strong contender, however I would want to drive it first. The last E63 just didn't click with me for some reason.

Hold out for the RS7. That's what I would do.

+1. Audi is making super competitive product these days and although I don't think the A7 styling is as good as the 6GC, it is far more practical.

The E63 with AWD is great on paper, but I've just never been turned on by that car. It also has a lot of old tech that I think will be rectified in the next model (judging by what is rumored for the next S class).

Sorry to hear about your problems, I can only imagine how frustrating this must be.
As for your replacement, is this your daily driver? Do you ever need a back seat?
If yes and yes....I have to agree with others:

If no need for back seats - how about a Jaguar F-type?

What was your production date?

I'm considering switching to the F10 from AMG and I guess I hadn't read about that many issues. Just the oil pump recall.

What are some of the other issues?

These two issues also come to mind, discussed ad nauseam here:

NO AUDI

I just finished lemoning my 2013 Audi RS5...

DO NOT BUY AN AUDI!!! I can't stress this enough... you will hate the tech in the car compared to BMW and they have electrical issues up the ***.

The Audis look AMAZING, but they are just not there yet.

If you need help with lemoning your car PM me... it's not difficult and you don't need a lawyer.

Based on what you stated, they should offer a buyback...

PM ME!

You should consider the Aston Martin Rapide S. Only viable alternative to the M5 IMO. Otherwise just get another M5 - they are fantastic cars.

If you don't need backseats I would get a 991 S. I really like that car. I do need back seats and am still considering it after the M5. Lol.

Regarding your situation. I'm pretty sure if your car spends a certain amount of time in the shop a buy back is a chip shot. Be careful about getting an attorney involved. Costs can add up fast. Unless you have a friend or relative that is one. If so a single nasty letter will move things along.

+1 for 991S. If I didn't need back seats, I'd be in one of those in a heartbeat.

The M5 is (although this is the wrong word for your view on it right now) a pretty special car.. engine, DCT, technology.. a real drivers car.

I say this because in attempt to find something else that's also somewhat unique or special..

- Aston Martin Rapide S
If you go with the AM Rapide S.. it will put you in the next tier up in terms of interior quality. You will have a very nice 6.0L V12 (520hp;558tq;4.9sec) to play with.
If you don't want to go with the AM Rapide S for some reason, you should consider a P car.

- Porsche Panamera Turbo S
This car I would consider a step up from the M5.. mainly because of the interior quality and also the way the car is built (example: the doors, how they close). This is not as special of a car as the AM Rapide S, however you can surely make this a unique car by spec'ing out a nice build.

- Porsche 2 Door
The four door choices are all used up! Time to look into two door.. and if that's what you want, then we are talking about a completely different list here.

What are you thinking about doing?
