2000km break in service
I was told today by the BMW dealer service saying that once you pick up the new M5 (F10 and LCI F10), and before you bring it back for the 2000km break in service, the launch control won't be available, the M drive won't work and the engine RPM will also be limited.
Is this true? i thought the F10 M5 M drive is a customizable feature with 2 memory settings, is he saying that the Sport+ mode won't be selectable? What did you all go through with the new M5?

not sure bout launch control feature since i don't have it (6 speed car).
M drive works just fine… and RPM is NOT limited… i accidentally went over 5000 rpms a couple of times. i am at 1700km right now. haven't done my first service yet.

The launch control will not work. The RPM is not limited, but it's advised to not thrash it during run-in. The M Drive modes M1 and M2 and the M drive in the HUD and all the M drive settings for traction, throttle sensitivity, wheel assistance weight and damper control all work.
