Im looking a 50k cars so I don't need a 10k repair in 30k miles.i also drive 50 k a year. That's new rotors every 18 months. Skip. As for the feeling, I'm an active participant. The old addage is you drive a BMW, a Mercedes drives you. Leaning BMW on that alone.

My Brother had the E63 Type S with CCB and it was nothing special IMO. It sounded nice and better traction but much less engaging to drive.

This is my preferential order ATM. Wife is pushing C7 lol.

From what I see on the F10, ideally I want competition package, executive package, ceramic brakes, adaptive LED headlights, night vision in Singapore grey or black with Sakir orange interior.

Questions
Any options are must haves vs skip it?
Any benefits options available in 2015 that make it beneficial to go with a 2015?
Any common problems with the F10s and expensive repetitive repairs? Example water pump or hpfp on e9x 335i.

Are the ceramic brakes, night vision, or LED lights worth the extra coin?
DCT or MT?

And given the other choices whats your preference, and I understand its biased.
Thanks for the help.
All are great except for the C7

Haven't driven an m5, but I have a m6 comp with CC brakes. The engine and tranny on the car is magnificent I can't imagine the e63 being better.

Since your going used market, try to buy as loaded as possible, you can find the right deal.

I need a new dd. I drive a territory. I could do the camry but its my office. I spend more of my waking time there than in my house. And I'm a performance junkie. Have yet found a road car that i feel is enough or too much spunk. Currently I'm driving a 28psi bosted 335i e93 with close to 700 rwhp. I have a backup ford focus. Plan is to trade the focus for the m5, retire the e93 from daily duty, and enjoy and drive the m5 to 300k+ miles over next several years.

I'd like to add downpipes, change the exhaust, and tune to high 600s low 700s and just ride. I don't want white or light silver exterior, and prefer black or sakhir interior. No white or sand. Again my must have's are executive, competition, wants lighting, extended leather, B&O, and the rest are fine but not necessary.

The perfect car would be $45-55k, >50k miles, some warranty if possible, no wrecks, well maintained. Top 4 colors in order Singapore, Sakhir, Sapphire black, Monte Carlo blue. Interiors sakhir, black. Some nice exterior mods, aftermarket black deep dish wheels, performance goodies or exhaust would be bonuses.

I'm planning now. Probably pull the trigger in a month or this summer depending on other unrelated financial matters.

I've been comparing it to MB e63s, M6 GC, M4 vert, C7, and Mustang GT. The later two I can modify easily for performance but don't have the practicality or luxury so they aren't serious contenders.

Finally, I wanted to thank everyone for their input. It's been very helpful so far.

Yeah, I just see car mags give Audis higher ratings, etc. The common complaints are all the same.
1. The exhaust is to quiet. That's remedied with an aftermarket exhaust
2. Steering a little numb. I think competition pkg helps though I'm not excited by steer by wire
3. Hard to get grip at launch. Easily improved with better wheel tire combo. Besides, im a highyway driver, not a traffic light hero.
4. Less power than the merc. Again a relatively inexpensive tune and downpipes with the exhaust fixes that.

They often give the interior look to the Audi. I prefer the BMW. Few other bits too but in the end the stuff the bmw has over the other two, sporty feel, looks, easily modified power, transmission, etc are much harder to change. So it would be much easier to get to the car i want with the bmw. Do the exhaust, downpipes, tune, clutches, wheels, tires, tint, coupled with comp, exec, and a couple other options and I'm there.

My big concern is reliability. I'm not looking for a Camry. But I'm hoping to avoid the multi-thousand repair every 25-50k miles once I break out of warranty. Any common issues like the e9x water pump, e9x 335i hpfp, the eox m3 valves, etc that these cars have that can be expected or prevented with higher miles?
