Without the tune it is pointless to have it, the spool is slower. The whole exhaust system sounds hollow.

bigger turbos will help this car shine especially with tuning options. I believe clutches will be needed before anything else the platform seems to be doing great especially proven to withstand 1.62 60fts with lots of torque 645-660wtrq at hand.
We see how these turners bring their A game but so far my set up has been awesome with no issues or malfunction lights when properly adapted.
G
I mean honestly I wonder about some of the dynos this platform is seeing myself.. My m5 made like 550-571whp and 510-540wtrq stock on a local proven dynojet, for my GTR I used a low reading mustang dyno at an AMS authorized shop for my built GTR and made like 690whp/610wtrq on my detuned daily driving map and that setup has a slip for 10.00@140 flat on stock tires making less power [620/600]... So basically a JB4 M5 should hang with it from a roll but it really doesn't lol.. I just feel like if a lot of these m5/m6s and new tunes saw mustang dynos they'd not be making 600s.

I think you, greentrbo95gst, and GMD [I think he's running meth?], not many other people outside the overseas guys would see REAL 600whp/trq... And I'm just still skeptical how well the trans would handle that on a daily beating [I was running it for 20k miles and only had two lights ever so it can definitely take extra power even 6lbs was fine except when I'd starve it at the very top of the band at 160mph]..

Maybe I'm just jaded from reading and learning about the GTR and stock rods, pistons, and trans quickly folding in the 600-700 range if you aren't very careful. So at least before I hop back in an m6/m5, I'll wanna see where the breaking point is like its known for the GTR... 600whp dynojets really don't mean anything to me right now.

The other problem is there are so few of us modding these more expensive cars[why we had to wait for the m4 boys to make R&D worth it and now reaped the benefits], failure rates wouldn't be reported nearly as much as a car with larger sales volume.

Hopefully we won't see any failure rates whenour cars are tuned. If it has wheels on it we all will find a way to skeet out some power. I for one dintvwzntvanytvi g breaking on my car or anyone else

PP-Performance has been been putting tunes on ECUs for many months now. They remove the top speed governor & can turn off o2 sensor for cars with downpipes. There isn't support in North America though. They seem to be very popular in Europe & Middle East.

AMS already said they will not provide tunes for other people's hardware . They also will not be doing tunes for meth bc if your meth runs out with an aggressive meth tune it's boom time . Completely understandable in my opinion . Turbo tuning is very complex and who ever tunes your car will need hands on it for awhile to get it to run worth a damn given your complex one off set up . No one is going to support someone else's turbos , meth AND nitrous at all much less remotely lol.

i got an email yestarday from a contact in ind. they are following closely the tune.
i got told that the price was dropped from 3,000 to 2,500 because they have been able to find easier ways and faster to tune the ecus with their r&d, by ends week they should have a finished product.

My question is... BMW routinely has software updates to the engine software. Some people said their drivetrain malfunction problem was ratified from one of the updates.

Should we have all those updates performed before sending in the ECU to AMS? Or does AMS have a fresh latest BMW file they load before they modify items?

I am pretty sure that is one of the reasons why this DME has been so dang hard to crack. I would imagine that this issue has been brought up in the due process.

Moreover I think that this is a question for the individual(s) whom actually were able to crack this sucker.
Maybe a question for AMS??

Good point. If you do a software upgrade after, the likelihood is your car will be flashed back to stock...

Andy, no tuner can tune the ecu without having the car with upgraded turbos. Impossible and not safe.
