Im not about that life.
Higher comparing to allmotors dyno, there's nothing to be sensitive about, it happens, no one doubts his power levels.

Don't compare to my old dyno - it's just that... old. Will get a new one since working out all the issues.

I mean there is a big difference between 600s and 800s... Just as an example GTR you can run the car almost stock everything if not close to 650whp and in lots of cases be fine unless you get too aggressive with the tune.

You try to boost stock parts to 800 something will break, you will throw a rod or you will break a gear, clutch, t-case etc.

Personally I think BMWs are 100% quality builds and can tolerate more than most cars even ones that are mod friendly. But still I think it gets to a point where you start needing billet parts, etc.

So thats why I'm so curious if kinda like the N54 we've got a well vetted safe till X amount of power based on how far people are pushing them..

Would love in a year or two time be able to say if we do X,Y,Z it'll be safe to this power level, and start getting some R&D in the car to push even further.

We are not trying to beat your numbers. We are trying to push the platform to its limits. I hope you get higher numbers and push it even more

Friendly competition is good. However when shops are involved and they want to sell something, information isn't shared.

Nobody implied they weren't. I said 600-700 is relatively mild for high HP applications, plenty of cars from coyotes to LS engines, N54, etc. can easily make that and not break a sweat. When you start hitting 800+ is where you see lots of things start needing to beefed up.

guys some of these cars are making the claimed power but most are not! All these owners with 750whp and better would def grab a vbox or go to the strip to back up their numbers, The reason we don't hear about it is the results are bad!

Based on stock trap speeds once you get to about 650whp these cars should be over 130, As far as I know only 1 car has done it at a strip,Vbox doesn't count because of the mph is calculated slightly different. We have also seen cars over 700whp trap under 130, just makes no sense. And as far as traction that should help the trap speed not hurt it

Good traction always results in lower trapspeeds! That's from personal experience.

I mean some guys just don't care lol they got their dyno graph and the results they wanted and will roll race their buddies z06 on the way home from cars and coffee and don't really care about Vbox or 1/4 or informing the community other than to say "got these numbers" lol

I meant bad traction helps the trap speed not the other way around, thats why its so disturbing that on the most part we can't get past 130

lol i met a guy over the summer who had an M5 that had some mods done to it so we were chatting a bit. He tells me that he is waiting until the fall to dyno his car, I asked him why, he tells me that he is waiting for cool air so that the number is higher. This was in the summer so it was like 90deg. He had no care what the before and after was, all that mattered to him was a glory number

I ran a 11.81@121 with my old V10 m6, when I bring this one to the strip I'll be on +6 and race fuel with my bms. I am going to be really disappointed if the car doesn't do much much better than that. I thought for sure it would run 10's but because of everyone else not doing it I'm afraid it won't. I have nitto drag radials that I got 2 weeks ago, it hooks much better than before even in the cold so I'm expecting even better traction come spring time. One other thing I have 18" slicks from my old car, I got them to fit by removing the rear calipers and it worked out ok, if the nittos don't work ill try that

You'll Run a 11.1-11.3 with that setup . Best way is adapt the car for a week with same fuel a couple times every night and park it. She will run like a beast on your track day.

Also do burn out in water box starting in first gear and once it starts to spin click into second then into third
Immediately, This is the only way you'll get them hot enough. They need high mph to get properly prepped.

As it starts to grip let off and you'll be good to go.

Then try launch control see if it hooks good if it does repeat process when you go back but this time do burn out mode at the light. As soon as you see second light stomp on the gas, the car will raise Rpms to 5000 rpm and will dump the clutch, if your tires are prepped right it wall launch like a bat out of hell, If not all you'll do is spin

Good luck!

On the M5 you need 700whp to break 130's irrespective of traction

Maybe 780whp to be 135 and 850whp for 140

This is a HEAVY car....

M6 may do it with a 30-40whp less
