Redline on ED???

So i have been thinking about taking and Escort Redline on my ED. I would have it low or even some where in the cab away from the windshield where it would be in direct site. From what i understand they are not legal in the EU? the redline is "undetectable" in like other RD.

Worth the risk? What are your thoughts?

Perhaps I was just lucky but I drove 9/10 at all times unless in a city or town and had no issues with police. No radar detector either.

I think you will find the pace of driving so refreshingly brisk that you won't feel the need to get overly aggressive.

Same here. Plus they really crack down hard on RD use over there. Especially Austria. I was strongly cautioned on this by the locals.

I just used a camera detector which covers 95% of the speed enforcement.

I used a product known as the Cheetah C50 and added the European database. It's pretty good.

It has a database of speed cameras and a GPS built-in. Does a pretty good job of warning for cameras, and it is small so you can fit it in one of your cup holders. Advantage over Trapster is that it doesn't require a cellular connection. Cellular connection can get expensive in Europe and once you are driving the B roads in rural Austria (the fun roads) the cellular coverage isn't great.

Fire up trapster or waze in your hotel with wireless, load and precache your route for the day into the phone, no cell reception needed. By the way each of those apps used less than 20MB of cell data for me over the course of 10 days of driving.

Also, I found that no cell coverage usually equalled no speed cameras either.

I think Spinny had some issues with his Cheetah, so preprepping that might be in order as well.

Turns out that my wife plugged the power in the data port. So it was a bit late but when i realized this and corrected it the cheetah came to life.

I would still say that it only had about 50% of the cameras so i would not rely solely on it.
