Temporary Bye F10 M5 - Hello P-car!

After a decade of non-stop M5 driving from E39 to F10 passing thru the E60......I temporarily won't be driving an M5, hopefully just for a few months...

Sold earlier this week my 2013 F10 M5 MCB 6MT and I want it back. I put almost 18K miles in 12 months and it was some of the most enjoyable driving I have ever done, and I drove faster on average than in any of my previous cars. My wife for sure wants it back . So back to the drawing board for another ED for a F10 M5 6MT w/ CP. IMO it is the best M5 to date and with 6MT the best overall car made to date.

The great news is that in four weeks I have a 2014 991 C2S arriving, and that should make me forget about the F10 for the most part. I always wanted a 911 and once I drove the 991 I was hooked , days can not go by fast enough...all I can say about it is in my brief experience, WHAT A MACHINE!...I am sure after miles and miles, it will get better and better...

Of course they are two different cars, just like my E92 M3 is different...each one has their place. All I know is that I have a car addiction...

Any comments from 991 and M5 owners are welcome!

Will post pics when the P car arrives....

OP, Congrats and Enjoy!

I would be very interested in a comparo between the two. I am considering both and having a difficult time deciding. I fully understand they are very different cars.

Cheers!

Well I dont have a 991, I have a 911 996, still amazing car even for 11 years old, and more fun to drive than the F10 M5. You will enjoy your 991!

That's bullshit. I drove the 996 and it was the worst 911 ever made. The F10 M5 is ten times more fun.

I would choose a 320i before I would drive a 996.

Congrats. I'm going to get a 991S this year too. Great car. Best 911 since the 993.

Congrats go to the dark side post. You have several M5, and 991 owners. I have both, and they are the two perfect cars that compliment each other. The M5 is balls to thr walls fast with a tone of torque. The 991 is silky smooth, and a very sexy car that turns heads if you like that short of stuff. The 991 could never be my daily driver because some days I like the cushy M5 comforts.

I hope you have the sport exhaust as an option. Even so, plan on doing the sharwerks primary muffler delete. It needs more noise. Just did it on my C4S
