When I scratch the bottom of the car going over a speed bump
The low height of the car makes me really annoying.. (I have CP)
Do you know what I will be damaging when I scratch the bottom of the car? (when going over a speed bump?) Will it damage transmission or oil cooler? Thank you! |

Not likely. Most likely damage is that you will break the protective plate under the engine. It's $400-500 to replace.

Just had this replaced over the weekend due to a piece of wood in the road. Price was $391 including labor, so not bad. The piece was wedged in there good too.

I will undoubtedly, most assuredly have a really bad dream tonight as a result of this picture; no I'm not saying this for effect... I really will.

Yeah, when I ran over the debris I was fixated on the dash, thinking something was going to happen. Fortunately this was all that was damaged. I was going a good clip too on Hwy 71 to Austin, so it's obvious these cars are built well. BMW Austin took good care of me.

It could always be worse. That plastic piece on our F10's is a cover/shield. I believe our oil pans are above it, if I remember right.

I actually love the ground clearance of the M5. I don't scrape nearly as often as I did with my E90 M3.

I had but a large piece of 18 wheeler retread. Black marked and thought I was jacked. The driver side front real good. Thank god I had a clear bra in it. It still has a couple marks I couldn't get out but you can't tell.

If the middle of your car is hitting on speed bumps, you are going over them too fast......
