Assuming a Lease - '16 F10 M5

So I used swapalease ("SAL") to secure a lease assumption. And I'll have to say it has been a relatively pain-free experience -- as long as the lessor is communicative, timely in responding, and profession in due diligence document gathering/submissions.

My guy is awesome in that light; however, I do have a community question:

(Where applicable):

Has anyone here used SAL to assume an M vehicle? If so, how was that experience?

What do you advise I do prior to the transaction completing?
- I have already scheduled a PPI prior to picking up the vehicle.
- Should I get a CPO level PPI done? Or, maybe a oil analysis? (see http://www.6post.com/forums/showthre...1502368&page=2)
- Any other suggestions?

What sort of items do I need to physically inspect of prior to taking over the lease? Items that I'd get charged with pertaining to "excessive wear & tear" and/or returning the vehicle to BMW in the condition it was rec'd to the original lessor? (two keys + owners manual etc.)

When dealing with BMW regarding leasing a vehicle, a contract provision states that the Lessor needs to keep accurate records of the maintenance schedules and/or any work done on the vehicle. Is this true? Do I need to get these reports from the Lessor or the BMW Dealer that was servicing the vehicle during the original Lessor's term?

The original Lessor didn't purchase any protection plans from BMW (additional services like service contract or tire/wheel protection)

However, they did purchase a LoJack & PermaPlate from the Dealer.
Can ya'll please advise what PermaPlate is, and whether removing the LoJack is possible during the term of the Lease?

Lastly, would ya'll advise purchasing any additional services from BMW -- the vehicle is under original factory warranty till 05/'19 as it's a 2016 vehicle. And the "in-service" date would be the date of the inception of the lease. (please correct me if I'm wrong).

I know it's a lot to read, but hopefully the community can guide me here.

So stoked to be getting into a '16 m5 blk/blk comp, exec, B&O, LKSW (), and alum trace () -- but the payments and remaining term made it no-brainer with the new F90 Comp coming to market.

Thank you all!

I would suggest getting all service records directly from the dealership to ensure there are no issues or that factory warranty has been voided for one reason or another. I've seen cars unloaded on SAL w/ questionable histories including drilled DME's ,blown engines and voided warranties. In no way saying this is the case here, just saying I've seen some crazy sh-t on SAL.

I have used SAL before and have not had any issues but I did not plan on keeping the car after the lease. If you plan on keeping the car make sure you go to check out the car and make sure everything looks good. Its always good to call the dealer and see the service history and get an inspection.
