I couldn't find more info. Let's hope the driver / passengers are ok.

Thanks for posting. Hope the driver is just getting flow in as a precaution. Also hope it was not a fellow board member on a delimited speed test.

Very sad, but it looks like the F10 M5 chassis held up very well in that type of crash. These cars really are pretty safe.

I heard there will be a safety recall for specifically the MCB color cars due to a design flaw in those colors causing loss of traction and crashes.

BMW test drive
Driver sustained life threatening injuries , passenger only minor injuries
Caused by excessive speed (+150 feet braking marks, 600 feet travel through a field and catapulted over an embankment after which it landed on its roof)
Due to the injuries sustained and excessive speed the authorities have started an official accident / forensic / criminal investigation

Bad news indeed. The 42-year old driver sustained life threatening injuries. Passenger unharmed.
I added more pics of the scene of the accident, so we can see what can happen in those twisty road high speed runs.

Just read the German news articles. Apparently there were two BMW employees in the car for some sort of test run (not specified). The driver sustained life threatening injuries and was flown out, passenger apparently only with minor injuries.
I am puzzles as the article says that skid marks from full force braking were found on the street some 150ft long and after breaking like that the car went through a telephone pole like nothing and into a field for about 600ft. After all that, the speed was still high enough to catapult the car up an embankment over the road to land on the roof on the other side of that road.
How fast must this guy been driving??
