My M5/M6 replacement oil pump is installed and car is on way back to me

congrats to all who have now got their cars. My saga continues as my ED delivery car arrived at VPC in Brunswick,Ga on 10/8 and DCS showed projected date of 10/14 at my dealer. Today I find out my car is still at VPC on a hold waiting repair, oil pump. Well the new oil pump tied to my Vin # had arrived at my dealer on 10/5 and they were to install on receipt of car. BMW communication seems to have fell apart again - VPC thinks they are to install and are waiting for pump and dealer has pump to install. My dealer claims to have contacted the VPC today with no answer back yet. What a cluster!

Also, liked the post nytrus112 shared with us a couple of replies back (how things progressed and initial impressions of the car).

Finally picked up mine Saturday so I’m glad that I can include myself among you happy campers - I probably had it easier than some but what an ordeal for everyone.

Looking back…

6. Picked up this past Saturday

Posting quick picture. Anyway, it’s great to start hearing the all the positives for a change…it’s been a difficult last few weeks for all.

Same thing happened to me:
1. 9/26: Car arrived at the NJ port
2. 10/1: Car clears customs and is logged into VPC AND my replacement pump arrives at my dealer
3. 10/2: Work order opened on my car for normal VPC items as well as oil pump replacement (however the replacement pump is still sitting at my dealer)
4. 10/2 & 10/3: Spend 48 hours getting very frustrated that BMW, who manages to ship tens of thousands of cars around the world every year cannot figure out how to get my lone car and its replacement oil pump in the same place at the same time for the repair
5. 10/4: Three calls from my CA this day; 11:00 - oil pump being replaced as we speak; 2:30 - car realeased to carrier and being loaded on a truck; 5:30 - car has arrived at the dealership
6. 10/5: Take delivery of my car AND the original replacement pump for my car that arrived at the dealership on 10/1 is approved by BMW NA to be used in another custoemr's car at my dealership awaiting its pump

Latest update for my car from VPC rep:

C773827 is being held for the campaign on the oil pumps. The parts are just beginning to arrive. The port will repair all the M5 & M6â€s as the parts come in and according to their priority. No ETA has been given, because they do not have an ETA on the parts.

I'm assuming the key is to get to be a higher priority.... That seems to be the ticket. I saw one with a work order started and it had a dealer delivery date of 11/3

Mine has no work order as of yet. Need a work order or Brad goes crazy!!!!
