Sorry should have clarified, I got my wheels from Wheels Boutique also, and sometimes I'll call Ben at WB, but sometimes I'll email Matt (he works at ADV). Your rep should be listed on the order status page, and I would email that person. I'm right at 8 weeks now and my wheels should hopefully be done next week.

Just curious... Was it the dealer (CA or SA), a call to BMW NA, or another rep which gave you the status on the pump? As some, I'm getting conflicting info (or none) depending on the day and who I speak with - still in the dark.

Just spoke to my SA who claims that BMW put a hold on the pump on Saturday and service departments are not authorized to install. Does anybody know anything about this?

Just heard from CA that pump will be installed at vpc in Brunswick. He and bmwna had initially told me the dealer would repair.

With Topeka arriving today, hopefully the pump will arrive by the time it clears customs.

Any thoughts on how fast they can process vehicles?

My car arrived at the NJ port on Wednesday, September 26th. It cleared customs and was logged into the VPC on Monday, October 1st. The pump was repaired and the car shipped to my dealer on Thursday, October 4th. I took delvery the following afternoon on Friday, October 5th.

I got the same information. My car was supposed to come to my dealer today and THEN have pump fixed at dealer. THey said that the VPC is now holding all cars coming in to have the pump fixed their and will arrive at dealer completely fixed. My salesman said he found this out at about 10:30am today. My sales guy told me on Friday that the car would be here Monday morning on a truck and thats what his product specialist told him (internally) so i know the dealership was just told today for sure... He said he has 4 other cars he is waiting for that are all held up at the VPC waiting for the pumps..

Wow, this sounds like the makings of a disaster.......Not even sure it makes sense me calling to ask my dealership about it today since 1) I don't think my pump has arrived and 2) They probably don't know anyway. Sigh. And since we are just fictional storytellers in here maybe the best remedy is to just STFU anyway and painfully wait in silence while the BMW Gods do their thing with my 100+ grand piece of metal.

I think that the dealers are getting the pumps first for cars that were already delivered, i keep hearing more and more that the pumps will go to those cars first and that story is getting more refined every time i call.

I did hear that there was a mandate set for all cars on the way in to get fixed at the VPC, i was using my car as my own personal example.. I didnt do ED, my car was one of the last ones manufactured with the bad pump and i was trying to see where it fell.. I also was one of the first ones into the states after the recall (one of 2 boats that arrived right after the recall). been at the VPC since...

i am thinking i may do like you mentioned and just forget about all this chasing around and just wait for a call telling me when to pick up the car... too much roller coaster riding, up/down/up/down.....wait we dont know. wait you know more than us. stop.... go. ... slow down... wait... no, yes? no!

Thanks for that laugh. I really needed it for many reasons. Yeh, I really am getting to my wits end as well. I'm gonna sit back and just wait. When this all does work out I will simply THEN talk (and react if need be) on how long it has taken and just how painful the overall process has been. Good luck man.

Pump Finally Came

From the biggest BMW hater on here...oil pump came in this past Saturday and the crew at my dealership, called me, got me in first thing Monday morning, did my oil pump and 1200 mile check up / oil change.

Can't believe i finally got my car back... looking back, BMW NA did a horrible job with allocating pumps, informing car owners, and giving information to my dealer. My dealer did everything they could, at least in my eyes.

got a call today from a lady at BMW NA who stated she heard I was having an unhappy time so far with my M5 ordering process. She then went on to state that she contacted the finance people from "my dealership" and they said I hadn't even ordered yet. Come to find out she was talking about the dealership where my other two cars came from, which ISN'T where the M5 is coming from. Sigh...anyway I explained my gripe to her. She then asked me for information re: the dealership I'm getting the M5 from and its VIN. Then said she will get on it and be back in contact with me.

I'm pretty sure this all stemmed from my Twitter rant to BMW USA last week. There's no other way she could have been on to this. I find it interesting and encouraging that they pay attention to social media that way and take action but I don't think it will make much of any difference. Just thought I'd share that experience for what it's worth.

Well along those same lines, I reached an impasse with BMW NA this afternoon and plan to file suit against them later this week. I'm very frustrated it has come to this...

Now BMW NA is telling me that they also need to paint my car to fix some scratches... Ugh! Funny how they never mentioned this in any of our prior conversations despite my car being at the port since 10/1. This is ridiculous.

This is the picture that I just got from BMW NA. First, the car is filthy. Second, there is a huge scratch on the fender that is going to have to be painted despite no damage at all when I dropped the car off - as was clearly written on my vehicle inspection report, "No Damage."

good luck it's amlost over! My bumper had a chip in it, and they told me that it had to repaired. The good thing is they disclosed it, but get your point on waiting an extra day is all they should need. Wow did you do that driving?
