Didn't I just see a post a couple days ago about 40 M5s all being picked up through European Delivery on the same day? Wouldn't all (or most) of those M5s be rolling around Europe somewhere right now? Holy smokes, what a nightmare.

confirmed i am on the bad oil pump list..... car production date is 9/4.... anyone surely before that is on it too...they cannot sell or take orders anymore at the dealer until this is fixed... this is pretty serious. I am hoping they replace it soon, i was supposed to get delivery on or before Oct 1. Ship arriving to port 9/24

very disappointing.. it is what it is

Prod.date 2012-08-09

Just literally drove my car back from the service department where it had been for four days for a bad driver's seat module. Then my cellphone rings and its BMW NA telling me about the recall. I THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE!

I was told not to drive the car at all and that I would be advised when replacement parts are in. They don't even want me to drive the car to the service center when the parts are available. I'm supposed to call BMW roadside assistance and have them flatbed it. I was also advised two to three weeks before the parts are available. What's the over/under on it being more than four weeks?

This is crazy!

at the LEAST everyone should be getting loaners and a payment for the time the car cannot be driven, ie a lease payment

Just spoke with my dealer and BMW NA and as of right now I'm not on the list. HOWEVER the BMW NA rep said it's possible not all of the VIN numbers have been entered as of yet.

Edit: I have a mid july production.

When I first purchased 2008 E92 M3, I thought DCT software lag issue was pretty bad.
This M5/M6 issue just brings it another level....

Yes, first and second year model M cars... I learned the lesson.

I am glad that I did ED on my car and paid the additional .0003 MF so BMW can make my 2nd payment when I am supposed to be enjoying the car. Good to know that, based on several posts, that the problem wont be resolved for several weeks and that I can expect to make my 3rd payment while the car is with BMW.

Yeah, that's why I called BMW NA to confirm I was not on the list, which they did. It's possible though that we may be added to the list eventually.

Everyone who's not on the list, or at least not yet, when did your car go in to production? Maybe there's a pattern?

My sales guy said "if you had a car on order, and it was at the dealership for delivery, we would have to suspend sale until retrofit is completed. Won't matter for you thought because it's not built yet."

He told me they're still taking orders. I don't even see why they'd have to stop. They just wouldn't complete the build until they have a fix. How long does it usually take from the time you place your order until the car arrives?
