Finally straight E85 support?

Looks like straight E85 has finally been tuned on the F80 M3 platform. Do you think it will be soon that it will also be an option on the F10 M5? I bet E85 would be a game changer for the F10 M5. Even more so then 93 plus methanol injection!

Thoughts?

High pressure fuel pumps cannot keep up with full e85. Mission performance can tune for straight e85, but has to limit whp to around 600whp. If it were doable on stock HPFP, I would have done this long ago....

Would it be possible to upgrade the fuel pumps and then tune for straight E85 or would it still be better overall to do 93 plus methanol injection?

That's the question....who sells upgraded higher flowing fuel pumps?...no one AFAIK. All of these big HP builds all running stock HPFPs and supplementing with methanol.

Not quite:

1. My cams are modified to add 30% lift to the HPFP... can run 800whp w/o meth
2. Working on upgraded HPFP... stay tuned

Keep me posted! I believe I have same cams unless you had Steve do something to yours specifically. Break in is almost over what do you think is safe to run boost wise without meth?

You have to log according to octane, boost etc. to determine what's best. There is no magic #.

Isn't the F90 M5 HPFP 200 bar more than the F10? Wouldn't that be a suitable upgrade or would you have to do more than just the pump?

Will probably cost $3-$4K with associated hardware and won’t guarantee it will work either. What if you need to swap cams... and that meant swapping heads.. you see where this goes!

whats the value to e85 on our cars? we already can significantly over power the stock rods, we already make too much torque, e85 will make it worse. I guess to avoid meth but even a pump 93 tune can really put a hurting on stock rods

The cams are indeed different, I'm still trying to figure out some info about the cylinder heads.

Will cost you less to port the F10 heads than swapping with the F90
