Guys
I got my M back from the dealer and body shop after about a month in the shop and $18k of front end repairs from hitting the deer.
She is in great shape and back in business.
This past Saturday we changed a few things:
1 - change the front orange reflectors to black, IND.
2 - changed the back red reflectors to black, IND.
3 - friend of mine installed BMS Stage 1 at 3.0 PSI. No way will I take it out before I take it back to the dealer for service.
4 - Tied the exhaust valves open with wire.
The additional power and torque is really amazing and totally worth $499. A bit harder to control back end and traction light is getting a work out.
The exhaust really sounds better. Not super loud but for sure noticeable. Love it.
Will get the car on a dyno after Labor Day and will let you know what it reads.
Mike

Looks good. BMS makes that big of a difference huh? Why would anyone pay an extra 3k and go with dinans piggy back

To not void the warranty. Otherwise, you're question has no other answer from what I can tell.

How is that BMS tune? Have seriously been looking at one. Are the results super noticeable?

Also to MpowerrF10

The car pulls a lot harder in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. A lot more for sure I guess from opinion. When I have the M2 button pushed, "Eat Mode", all aggressive when other cars want to play also very strong when I stomp the pedal and back end is more tricky to handle. Hopefully I can get some stock numbers and the new numbers with BMS from the Dyno next week.

And you have no other engine mods but the BMS...correct?

Mike, I finally had mine put in today as well - replacement unit after the first one sent was faulty. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to try it out because the car is back in the shop for new break disks and tires.

My initial impression was a noticeably harder pull across the entire rev range in 2nd gear. But I didn't really feel it in 3rd and 4th gear that much. Burger recommends a couple of hard pulls in the beginning. Did you feel any change after driving the tune for a while?

H.

3rd gear pulls and as some have stated be patient. Should fully adapt 3 days.

Recommend the cable. One of my settings from BMS the future use was incorrectly set; not sure if that makes a difference. But changing the boost to 3.5 on 93 fuel has made a difference.

Thanks @JPMD. I set it to 3.5 as well, all else as instructed by the n54 site. On the user adjustment tab, though, there are so many more adjustment possibilities. Does anybody have a screenshot of the absolute perfect performance setting in all these 49 different adjustment fields?

Been driving her now for 2.5 days a decent amount and feels strong going through 2nd and 3rd. 4th gear the speed is getting up there and a bit harder to tell but all in all it is feeling good.

Hi guys.

Thanks for the thread, OP.

I've been considering on piggy back for my M5.
A few questions.
1. Is it safe for the engine?
2. How many channels does BMS support?
3. BMS is not available where I live. How is 3D Design and/or Evox ?

Any pros and cons ? :-D
