How do you do a burnout in M5 f10

Could anyone give some instructions on how to do a burnout? This is the only car I have owned that has a DCT transmission with this much power and I am in need of some guidance before I hurt my transmission or engine.

This is the type of controlled burnout I'm talking about

Don't jump to conclusions and think I am going to try that in the street where there are pedestrians and traffic.

Im not trying to be reckless about it and I have private property where I would try it. I would never think about doing something that would endanger the lives of others.

I am 23 years old.

If you have to ask, you have no business driving this car in the first place. Good luck and God be with you.

Should be said doing that furious of a burnout on regular asphalt will destroy a set of street tires rather quickly. You'll have maybe 15-30 seconds before the tires are trash. To each is own I suppose. See you over on the Tires and Wheels section....

Just noticed you are in Denver, CO on your profile. Based on your weather right now be prepared for the car to move violently side to side on cold pavement. (less then 50F)

I wouldnt recommend doing a burn out on the M5. Especially in the cold. I understand your 23 and want to have fun, I am 20 so close to your age, but even I am saying " its stupid!". Do you realize how much power there is under your right foot? its not just stab the throttle and go, you need to control it all. Not something an unexperienced drive can do. Plus some experienced people even have trouble controlling the M5's power. This car can and WILL bite you in the ass. That is also why I am having the M5 stored for the winter, because its cold!!! Those tires can not take a beating in the cold.

Not to sound old and busted, but please reconsider and don't do this with that car.

- You will destroy your tires.

- As your tires start melting, depending on how aggressive you are, they may kick melted/burnt pieces of rubber on to your car and you will NEVER get it off.

- You will probably damage your car in some way and there is NO chance a dealer will cover that damage. The computer in these cars tracks EVERYTHING. Heck, they can tell how many miles are on your car just from the key . . . the key!!!

- If this isn't your car (i.e. your dad's), he will destroy you upon discovering that you destroyed his car. Not trying to be disrespectful or suggest this isn't your car, just trying to cover all the bases.

I don't know this from experience in any of the high end cars I've owned (because I would never do that in any of them). However, I did do these kinds of silly (but fun) things in High School with some sh!tboxes that I owned . . . rarely turns out quite the way you want it to. LOL

Why do you want to do it anyway? Just for YouTube footage or for some friend of yours (that probably can't afford one of these) to see? You'll be in the car so it's not like you'll get to see the 'action' . . .

I love ya brother but c'mon!-lol

All he is asking is how to not jack up his DCT. What are we a bunch if conservative little goodie two shoes here? Every single one of us has driven the crap out of our cars and had a little fun. DCT off and mash that bad boy then hold on! :-) Just do it when no other cars are around as you said. Enjoy it safely.

These are hilarious responses..."rubber sticking to your car"..."you will damage it"-ggeeezzzzz..... If I had to baby a car of this caliber I wouldn't buy it. I have spun the tires hard on my M5s/M6/991/California. Heck my F150 can handle it too. Wanting to burn your tires a few times for fun does not in my opinion imply that you are an idiot driver. Be careful where/when and have some fun. Repeatedly doing it-yeah I would then be concerned about you and for the car. A lite silly fun just to see why it will do-go for it! The truth is that if you out a video of not up everyone would be cheering, perhaps secretly, but trust me they would.

Its not like we are being conservative, just looking out for some people on this board who come and register and just ask how to do a burn out. Iv seen this happened before and it ended up badly. Drive the crap out of your car, but if you dont know how to drift or do a burn out, maybe you should experiment a bit more with the car, and push it to the limits safely. This is will ensure, that if you are going do stupid fun things, you will know how to save it, and where the limit is, and who the car will behave. Some people dont understand that this much power is sometimes deadly in the wrong hands.

I was joking around drifting in the M5. Then I realized, this car is a handful! It takes so much energy and attention to not loss it completely. Drifting the porsche on the other hand is just easy, controllable, and never think about losing it.

LOL...Cold, I would never say NOT to do it...It's their car, do what ya want...But if you have to come to a forum and ask how to do a burnout, that speaks in volumes of immaturity, and lack of experience. That being said, it's scary to live in world where someone is driving a 600hp RWD car and needs advise on how to do something that is simple. It's not like he asked about techniques for proper braking and apexing.
