Finally adjusted the settings on the coilovers and installed the EDC delete. With the Dinan swaybars and KW V3 coilovers, the car behaves so differently. It is so much more composed in cornering and high speed lane changing. Before this upgrade, I was afraid to use the power as the chassis/suspension just could not handle the power and weight. It was not fun to drive this car unless I was driving on a straight line. Almost gave up and wanted to sell the car. Now, I can truly feel the power and use the power.

This is one mod that I highly recommend to everyone. It is pricey (over $4k) but worth it. It should have come from the factory this way.

1000% agreed.

Its absolutely laughable how some F10M5 owners go for power upgrades on H&R springs or OE suspension. This KWV3 coilover kit alone makes the car feel planted and corner like a race car ...at least 25% more usable power.

I wonder how much difference the Dinan sways really make along with the KWV3s
Looks like a car swap on Angeles Crest is in order

Thanks for your post that let me know about this upgrade. If not, I probably would have sold the car already. I had HR springs and spacers that made the car even worse in handling. They were all cosmetic and did nothing to improve the handling and ride.

I do not know which one improves the car more - the KW coilovers or Dinan swaybars. But together, they are pretty amazing. I am no track person or auto specialist but I can tell the difference. The car just behaves like a smaller and more nimble car.

You are right. This is way more important for me. No desire to increase the hp or for a louder exhaust. But I was dumb enough to spend a few dollars on a set HRE S101s and 21"s. Now, I can enjoy them with my "new" suspension.

So the coilover kit would be a better route than the sleeveover kit?

Mastek described it well in his post on the previous page. Sleeve over is just an adjustable spring set. Coilover also replaces the shocks. The OEM shocks look cheap in comparison with the shocks from KW. The behavior of the car is changed drastically. If you asked me, yes, I think coilover is worth it.

Yes, if you don't mind losing EDC; I don't miss it one bit. The KW V3 coilovers are worth every penny. You get performance and comfort in one package.

You are probably right. I had HR springs. They look good but did nothing in improving the handling and ride.

Help me understand this issue with edc. By installing v3, this will delete comfort, sport and sport plus functions. Do I understand this correctly? Thanks

Yes it will delete those functions. They are two silver boxes that will sit in your trunk and plug into the rear shocks. I have used mine for over 50-60k miles and love them. I don't miss using my oem shock settings. The most important thing to do is after installing is to try to get your car corner balanced. The shock settings are infinite so that will be dependent on your taste of driving style.
I tried using another forum guys settings and didn't like them at all. Its a pita but when you do get it adjusted the way you like they perform very well.

I had a competition pack car and finally went Dinan Sways on full hard and KW V3, very compliant and planted I ran with 2 degrees of camber at the back and 1.4 at the front (Not enough, but not adjustable) my settings were finally quite high on the front and less at the back with more rebound than bump (I can dig them out of anyone is interested)

Moving to a 911 GTS with Sports PASM and now a GT3 I can say the M5 with this suspension was still more 'comfortable' and compliant than my GTS or GT3. Shows how soft the standard M5 is......
