Leather treatment for new car?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
My new M5 arrives next week. It is MCB with Silverstone leather. My other cars have black leather but this one will be more of a challenge to keep the seats looking good. Should I think about applying some kind of protectant to the seats from new? Any other thoughts on maintenance for light-coloured leather?

MHH - I have the silverstone interior and so far so good. Only minimal marking. All of which has come off with this product - Leatherique. I ordered it off the net from the US. One of the forum members mentioned it with some pics of his 7er with just outstanding leather (apologies I cannot remember his name or find hid post). I have used it on my silverstone interior and I can vouch that it is a great product. If you need some more details let me know and I will track down the invoice from the vendor.

Thanks - are you using both the Rejuvenator or just the Pristine Clean?

Treat the leather like you would on a dark color leather - with the usual regime of protectants and conditioners.

For light colored leather if you happen to get marks on it, try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It will remove marks easily.

Um, that would be almost nothing.

I have just been using the pristine clean to get rid of any small marks. Haven't felt the need to give it the full treatment yet. I must say that the marks are really from my 9 year old son who sits in the front seat - the trips back from his Sat morning soccer games are where we usually get a dirty mark or two, but they come off very easily.

Surprised that no one has said anything about leatherique, wouldn't use anything else on this type of leather.

Leatherique is always a good choice. I used Leather masters the last few times with good results. Combined with the Swissvax leather brush both cleaners are solid.
